Scariest Nightmare Ever: Changing Themes

on an existing product review theme. seriously i just want to break my computer. I have literally tried 4 or 5 different premium (expensive) themes for my existing product review site and they all end up being the lagest pain in the butt and support never knows what to do.

Welcome to IM! That's why any system that tells you that you can set a blog up in 1/2 hour or 10 hours or whatever never works. So many themes are buggy and YES tech support is often worthless. I bought J. Fladlien's premium WP to FB theme and thought I was gonna commit a murder it was so time consuming and frustrating. I feel for ya! Hopefully you'll get it figured out one way or another.

Just hire someone to do it and stop wasting your own time. It may cost more than you want to pay, but in the end it will be worth it.

Depending. If you are the kind of person that by suffering through it you'll be self sufficient next time then it's worth doing it yourself.

If on the other hand, tech stuff is your kryptonite, and no matter how many times you do it you won't really get any better at it... then yes, pay someone else to do it for you.

a: I never found a theme I actually liked. It's always freaking something.

b: WEAVER II customizable theme. You can buy a header image on fiverr (and if you ask, most "artists" would LOVE to give you a color palette to go with the header), upload it, and change the color scheme around relatively easily all by your self. And it includes multiple "child themes" which I call "starting points".

c: Even with weaver, I still ended up digging into the CSS to turn off the god awful BOXES it was drawing around my Amazon items.

Got a book for you: "Wordpress Web Design for Dummies." It teaches basic CSS and theme modification. You would be amazed what you can do with the default Twenty-Ten theme once you learn to customize it. More importantly, you will learn enough basic CSS (and how Wordpress themes work) to handle your own mods on whatever theme you use.
