Google Ban Suspend Happy?

Hello Warriors,
Has anybody else noticed out there that google has gone ban happy? Account suspension happy? Just curious... I understand their terms, but it seems like they are just banning and suspending adsense accounts left and right just for the fun of it without checking things out?

Here is an Example (actually quite funny) of our own banner being ran on our own site and again we have not used adsense in years..

So.. we got an email from them a couple months ago with them threatening us to ban our adsense account and we don't even use adsense.. to summerize it went like this: (here is how the emails went back and forth)-

G**Gle : your adsense account is going to be suspended for landing page violations.

Us : Please check the code on our site, we have not used adsense in years. The banner on our site is our own banner being ran from our own site.

G**Gle:confused:: Please correct this action or your account will be suspended.

Us : Hello... check the code its our own banner on our own site! We do not use adsense to advertise or adsense.

G**Gle : Thank you for correcting this problem. We appreciate your support.

Us : We never touched the site. Its our own banner..lol..

anyway... 2 months later we get another email from them.

G**Gle : Your account has been suspended for landing page violations...

LOL... sorry guys, I like google, I use google for search... but WTH are they seeing that we are not...lol...

Not mad or anything on our end because we monitize our sites in other ways. But you would figure after they suspended our account that we don't use and haven't in years.. and that banner is still viewable on our site from the G**Gle tech..lol..

Wonder what the heck they are thinking...

Anybody else had this... I think they suspended like 10 or 20 million accounts last year, the last time I heard?

Whats your thoughts?

I'm curious to the replies that will be posted as well, but yeah, I've been reading more and more people that are being banned. Of course, I don't know the reasons, and there are always 3 sides to any story (side A, side B, and the truth).

But yeah, that's funny that they were insisting ban on you even though you aren't even using them at all. I guess you violated their landing page policy in that you did NOT have ads running on your site and needed to? LOL! I don't know, but hey, they banned you nonetheless so they're feeling really good now. lol

Since when does Google tell you the reason for suspending your accounts? They normally just send out the regular email and are referring to their complete adsense policies.

I've got my account suspended several times as well, for absolutely no reason. I wasn't even working on any of my sites at the time. Simply had adsense on a dead website of mine. then 3 years of doing nothing - suspended for violating adsense policies.
I filled out the forms to get back in, and 2 weeks later I was unsuspended. Thank god I wasn't relying on adsense at that time. But yes, I find it very strange how they ban accounts.

I'm sure they have their reasons, but never ask why, because you will just end up melting your brains

Surprised you are getting a warning in the first place. They normally just shut adsense down with no warning. Thats my Experience with them, filed for an appeal, resulting in no luck.

That happened to my Adwords DWolfe. It was a stupid mistake that I made, but I didn't get a warning at all (never been shut down at all for the 2+ years prior) and then all of a sudden... STOPPED!! Got a message the next day that my Adwords has been suspended yadda yadda. Haven't gotten it reinstated since as they declined any appeals I pleaded.

Consulted a group that helps in reinstatement but it would cost me about $1200 or more to have a chance of reinstatement. Of course, it's not important to me now as that is much more than I've spent in Adwords or made from it, so I just let it sit. But yup, no warning, no nothing. So I believe Adsense would be the same way. Sorry to hear that they shut yours down. I cross my fingers that mine stays up and running with no issues... read the TOS several times and I should be okay, but their TOS is so vague anyway and I've heard people shut down that were well within TOS.

Guess it's just a random game they play, spin a wheel, and shut down an account while everyone bets on who will get shut down? lol

Are you sure it wasn't someone BSing and pretending to represent Google? I've never heard of them initiating a dialogue with someone, especially to warn them about a potential account closure.

yeah, sometimes google does wrong thing, i have an account, i never used this, but it still remain, couple of days ago tried to add on Adwords, they said, i have low quality landing page, so i couldn't advertise.

Recently, Google changed their T&C, i didn't read these, they might changed those rules.

Thanks guys.. I'd have to find the email, but yes, we went back and forth just as the example above. Again we we are not mad, but we just thought it was really funny that they were suspending our account (and did) for us running our own banner on our own site .. for our own product.

I would have given a pretty penny to watch the G**Gle employee that banned the account keep trying to ban our account because that darn banner just wouldn't disappear off our site --LOL

Again not bagging on google I used them everyday for search, but even the most basic user of websites knows they can view the source code on a site and see that it was our banner.

Don't worry about it. Eventually, Google will find a way to ban every site that isn't owned by Google. That way, every search result will be a Google property and they'll eliminate all their competition for Internet domination.

        LOL

If you get a warning from Google, immediately correct whatever needs to be corrected preferably the same day. I got a warning message about adwords policy violation I thought I would look in to that in a few days but the very next day my adwords account got suspended.

They said it is a bridge page actually it was not it was a WP blog but the first post had a Paypal button in it so they said it is direct linking who can argue with Big G?

Yes, Google will send you warning emails. I have had one account banned and 3 different clients - all separate accounts - get ridiculous ominous sounding warnings of account suspension. The most common one I have seen is "your account is on hold because we can't verify your credit card" followed by "your account is permanently suspended because of TOS violations."

In the case of my clients, all of them got re-activated after 1-2 weeks and mind numbing email conversations. With no reason ever given.

In the case of my account, I was suspended once, and I appealed and fixed one site (LP quality violation) and they reactivated. Then - 2 years later - they banned me for what I think was nothing, but they claimed low quality LP's. This time, no warning, no reason other than a form letter.

    No rhyme or reason.

Also, you need to correct any violations on ads you're not running too. Apparently, it's not good enough for Google if you simply pull the ad. They want it corrected even if you stop running it and haven't run it in the past five years.

Just because someone works for Google doesn't mean they are one of the sharpest crayons in the box.
