Which Type of Squeeze Page is Better? Long or Short.

Hi Everyone

Which type of squeeze page converts best:
1. the long ones with a sign up form
2. the short video ones with a sign up form
3. the short ones with bullet points and a sign up form

Honestly, I don't think there's any hard or fast rule as to which type is better. To me ,it's just a matter of preference. You just have to try out the different types to see which'll work best for you. Myself, i like the short one with bullet points of the benefits and an optin form of course. Put yourself in the shoe of someone who comes to your site.Would you prefer to read a short squeeze page that get straight to the point or a long winded one? What do you guys think?

The best one is one that converts the highest, which can only be found by testing with your traffic.

      What he said...

      Really, flip a coin.

People are on both sides of the issue.

I tend to use very little copy on a subscription squeeze page, and long copy on sales pages.

You will find a lot of different opinions on which is best.
From what i have noticed the short video works best
but if you don't test yourself in your niche you want know for sure.

I agree with Ron. I personally like the shorter ones.

A huge determinant of conversions is your TRAFFIC SOURCE.

I personally use very short squeeze pages with just a head line and opt in box, but if I'm sending people interested in weight loss to a IM offer.... it doesn't matter how big of a promise I make on my squeeze page, the conversions are still going to suck.

Anyone who predicts with certainty which type of
squeeze page will convert better for you, is talking
    out of their arse.

    Why?

There are too many variables involved...

Your traffic source, your offer, your copywriting ability,
    and more.

The ONLY way to know for sure which option will work
best for YOU, YOUR offer and YOUR traffic is to TEST
the options for yourself and count sales.

    Dedicated to mutual success,

I am 100% confident that a shorter squeeze page does a better job at converting people to join your list. On a longer page, you just give too much info to the reader.

I wish I could share your "100% confidence" about things like that.

It must mean you don't need all the time, trouble and inconvenience that the rest of us have to go through to test it for ourselves? I was far from 100% confident, myself, and decided to split-test it. In only half of my niches, not in all of them, becuase it was such a work-up to do. But in every niche in which I did test it, I actually found exactly the opposite to what you've said, above.

Split test! It's different with every niche, every type of traffic you are sending to it, etc.

(Still waiting for someone to make a "size doesn't matter" joke....)

Someone will be around shortly to share the relationship between copy length and the length of a woman's dress.

I'd share, but I would screw up the quote.

    Yep. Test.

I had a niche squeeze that only had 3 elements - a headline, an ecover, and an opt-in. Anything else I added hurt the conversions. I gave up trying to understand "why" a long time ago.

(The headline and ecover were purple, too. No other color that I tested worked as well.)

It all depends on many factors. Each one you select now without testing, you're doing it wrong.

Hey Bill I think the quote you mean is...

"copy length is like a womans skirt. It should be long enough to cover the essentials, but short enough to keep it interesting."

It's often a wrong decision to make sure that the long squeeze page or the short one is better before testing.

You should test at least 2 different pages to see which one is doing better. Because you want to know which squeeze page is more preferred for the visitors not for you.
