Absolutely complete newb to internet marketing.

Hi everyone. I just joined the forum today and would like to say i have absolutely no idea what is involved in the process of affiliate marketing. I have been looking to make some extra money online for the last few months and have been experimenting with PTC sites which has proven to be a painfully slow process with little results. I found out about internet marketing when i stumbled on Bring the Fresh's website. I was wondering if this program can teach me what i need to know from the VERY BEGINNING. I have done a little research and now i finally understand exactly what the concept of affiliate marketing is, which is a good start i guess. Bring the Fresh seems like the most legitimate guide out there that i've seen and at a one time fee, which is nice. The issue i have is that if i wanted to do it right now i wouldnt know the first step to take or first thing to type. My concern is that bring the fresh or even other guides might start out with the idea that i would already know how to set up a site and use clickbank and all that jazz.

any help, or info about Bring the Fresh would be so greatly appreciated.

I'm really excited to get going in this process and start earning going and start making money online, just need that little jump start.

Thanks!

The Keyword Academy is great for getting started, although their stuff is mostly geared towards SEO. That's how I got started about 8 months ago, knowing nothing at all about IM.

Hello, and welcome to the Warrior Forum. I wouldn't recommend Bring The Fresh for someone who is completely new to internet marketing like yourself, due to the way it's taught. It's not as step-by-step as you might need. It's more for people who have some experience under their belts and getting them to think outside the box and what not. There are also some things you have to pay people to do for you (outsource) in order to get set up.

If you're looking for a comprehensive program that's more ste-by-step and specifically designed for novice marketers like yourself, I suggest you check out Unstoppable Affiliate by Andrew Hansen and Josh Stanton. It's a really quality course, and the creators have really good reputations and know their stuff. It's also a one-time payment program and comes with a money-back guarantee.

    Good luck,
    Joey

I agree Chris Farrell has a great site and is very detailed for new folks.

Also I would highly recommend another free source that is A-Z, especially with affiliate marketing, and it's creators are very well respected Internet marketers. Go to ( The Challenge ) and check it out. I found this training about 4 years ago, I believe, and they bring out a new version each year so far. But that may be changing, I'm not sure.

Both of these programs will give you an excellent basic understanding and a structured course to follow to get going.

And of course this forum has just about every thing you could think of on it. It's best used, in my opinion, for research on specific skills and operations.

But most of all don't get bogged down and think you have to learn everything first. If you do you more than likely will never get started. Pick a single system and then do it. Take action and get some positive feedback or results. Then go on to another step.

Be realistic it's not a 30 day wonder thing. If you buy into that it will leave you wondering what went wrong. Do something each day with out fail even if it's just a small thing and in 6-12 months you will be light years from where you are today.

Good Luck and Get 'r done...

I would have to agree on Chris Farrell's membership.

His work is sometimes boring, but that is because he starts out at the basics and is so simplistic. He wants to be sure that he can take the greenest of newbies and turn them into true marketers.

He is very meticulous and gets his point across, leaving no room for misunderstanding.

I also believe he has some free training that you can try to see if you like his style first. I think he still has that.

Someone has already posted the link above, so go check it out.

Unfortunately this isn't true. Free of charge doesn't take into account the sheer amount of searching out here on the forum the correct advice required.

The OP could go round and round in circles for weeks here not really knowing who s/he can trust, trying this out, that out, something else out and all the while not seeing much reward for his or her efforts.

What s/he the IM newbie really needs is focused direction and help. Not broad and general advice from just about anyone. If they hope to maintain any traction at all in this field from the start, the more laser focused attention they receive of direct benefit to their personal circumstances - the better.

The last thing thing they want to do is to spin their wheels getting nowhere fast which can have a massive detrimental effect on their earning capacity. To stay highly motivated their needs are much better served by seeking out specialized help and assistance pertinent to their expectations and personal goals.

Chris Farrell is very well positioned to offer this assistance.

      • The first step is to do accurate market research...

What's a profitable industry for an online affiliate marketer? A profitable industry for an online affiliate marketer is an industry where people with immediate needs and "hair on fire" problems, relevant to that industry, prefer to search for more info and details about quick and effective solutions for those needs and problems and also prefer to purchase those solutions on the Internet. An example of a presently profitable industry for online affiliate marketers as well as for product developers and content authors is ICT (Information & Communications Technology)...

What are profitable niches and micro niches under your chosen profitable industry? Similar elements above, only this time: More laser targeted to a specific set of niches and micro niches under that industry. An example of a profitable niche under the ICT industry is mobile gadgets, and an example profitable micro niche under this niche is tablet computers...

What are profitable keywords under your chosen profitable niches and micro niches under your chosen profitable industry? Exact match keywords with high local search volume and CPC rates, especially if the keywords/keyphrases are buyer keywords, specific to various hot-selling products. You also need to imagine the exact ideas and thoughts running in the minds of people during the time they use thse keywords/keyphrases in Google -- What are they exactly looking for? Are they prepared to purchase those relevant solutions online right after they gain more info and details to make an informed buying decision?

What are profitable affiliate products related to your chosen profitable keywords/keyphrases under your chosen profitable niches and micro niches under your chosen profitable industry? Of course, affiliate products which serve as quick and effective solutions for the immediate needs and "hair on fire" problems of your target customers by providing benefits not found in other products are profitable affiliate products to promote...

Once you have market research squared away nicely, and after you sign up as an affiliate of the companies and distributors of those profitable affiliate products:

You can develop your site, primarily its visual elements and overall look and feel to match the preferences of your target customers in terms of visual appearance, site layout navigability and optimal usability. You can determine these things by asking your friends based in your target countries, particularly those who have the same immediate needs and "hair on fire" problems as your target customers in those countries -- How should a site's visual elements look like, how should its layout look like and how can its interface be optimized for maximum usability, in order to grab the attention of your target customers, make them stay on your site, view its content, gain the benefits your content provides, sign up to your mailing list as active subscribers, purchase your affiliate products (or click your CPC ads or complete your CPA forms or buy products and service offers you developed on your own) and share your site and content to their friends, colleagues, relatives and social networks?

Once that's done, you can then develop your onsite content in ways most beneficial to your target customers. Afterwards, syndicate your content with benefits not found elsewhere in relevant content syndication networks heavily traficked by your target customers. Also connect with owners of authority sites and blogs with large mailing list subscriber bases that are offering useful content relevant to the immediate needs and "hair on fire" problems of your target customers, your chosen industry, niche, micro niche, keywords/keyphrases, affiliate products and onsite content. Strive to offer benefits not found elsewhere...

Then, buy a $10 or less/year domain and a $10 or less/month hosting account from a company offering $75 of free Adwords PPC credits when you purchase a hosting account and/or register a domain with them. Find Facebook PPC coupon codes to gain around $200 credits of Facebook PPC credits. Use those PPC credits to test your clicks and conversion percentages, and track your PPC campaign results so as to improve your PPC ads, onsite content, squeeze pages, sales pages, products/service offers, affiliate product selections or CPC/CPA ad placement...

Top it off by developing a relevant digital info product offering benefits not found elsewhere to your target customers. Use this digital info product as an enticing offer for people interested in becoming your affiliates, so you'll have others promoting the digital info product, sending you buyer mailing list subscriber traffic in the process. Post it with a 90% or more commission percentage per sale...

It's straightforward and quite simple, but no: It ain't easy...

I am thankful for this thread. I just joined last night, after getting nowhere fast for more than two years.

I've been doing freelance writing for Demand Studios, and more recently have been developing web content through oDesk and Elance. I came to the US almost three years ago and have since then earned a Master of Accounting degree. I graduated two months ago, but by that time had already been irreparably disenchanted with taxes and calculators. I always loved writing and have been with a regional Leo Burnett office in Asia. Best two years of my life. I didn't pursue traditional copywriting after I moved because I wasn't sure whether my 'picked-up' language skills would stack up against native speakers.

I think I'll just stick to what doesn't bore me to death. And that's writing and advertising. I'm overwhelmed with the sheer amount of information in every thread on WF. I find myself sifting through tons of information until I find the one that I talks to me. For this thread, it was what Mark Andrews said about why Chris Farell is the way to go. Thank you Mark. Or Mr. Andrews if you prefer.

I'll give you the same advice that I give anyone starting out that asks me for help.
First decide how you are going to make money. Are you going to promote Amazon products, clickbank products, your own products, CPA offers etc.

Then pick a traffic method for them. I.e. SEO, ppc, article writing, email etc.

If you can just focus no those two things you will be ahead of 99% of newbies.

Before spending any money at all, spend a few days to read up all you can about affiliate marketing on this forum. This forum has a wealth of information that others are selling for thousands but you can access for free.

After you have read enough and you want more advanced stuff, pay $37 to join the war room and that's all you'll need for now.

Other than that, you are going to need about $10 for a domain name, $10 for hosting per month and about $20 for an autoresponder service per month.

The best advice I can tell you is to 1. read up as much as you can on affiliate marketing here and make some jottings. After you have understand enough, make a plan of action and follow it step by step. If you have any problems along the way, we are here to help you. but you MUST take action and expect to make mistakes because no one ever get it right the first time around.

This forum has soooo much information. Read and think about it. Take your time. I know you want to get started, but once you decide what you are going to do (as per TBI Marketing's advice), you don't want to have second thoughts. So, read and learn. Spend as much time as you can here. Take notes, just as you would for a school class--they will come in handy. After 20-50 hours, you will have a good idea of what you want to do. Keep referring to your notes and learning, but expand to include other social media sources. Pick 2 or 3 from Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus, LinkedIn, StumbldUpon, Pinterest; don't try to do them all.

Of course, you will learn all this stuff and more, as you spend a few dozen hours on this site!

I recommend heading over to blogspot.com and building a blog. Then spend $10/year and get your domain name. You can then market your site here. Then come to the warrior forum and put your link in the signature and then start posting regularly. That works well... you can get some views. Make sure you are posting about something you really enjoy, and start with 2 posts before putting sig link. Then learn from all the warrior forum has + blog and earn some money with adsenes+infolinks

Wow. I've never had such great response from a forum! I really appreciate all the help guys. I'm getting a few ideas about how to get going. I found this website that outlines everything free, without having to download anything. This was exactly what i was looking for. Here is the name of the site in case there are any other people like me wondering what physically goes into the creation of the site (couldn't give the link because of low post count)

"JR's Internet Marketing Strategies - Building and Affiliate Marketing Website: Step-by-step"

I thumbed through the Challenge site a bit and it seems like its going to be pretty helpful as well. I think i want to market Amazon products and probably ClickBank products. I'm not much of a writer so the article writing probably isn't for me.

Now i think i just need to figure out what softwares, domains, and hosting sites are the cheapest and best to get me started. Now that i understand how to get set up i think the wealth of knowledge is out there for me to figure out how to get traffic and get my website out there etc., especially on this forum. My next major challenge i think will be picking a topic and creating content.

I want to use Google AdSense to pick up extra money as well. It seems like a good idea once i have a bit of traffic.

This is really a lot to take in. To be honest i didn't expect this to be a get rich quick sort of thing or anything but i also didn't realize all that goes into affiliate marketing. I guess its time to saddle up huh?

    thanks everyone

As a newbie, you can take the simple and easy route. Just find a niche, get a website, get an autoresponder, get a product from clickbank, create a squeeze page, drive people to your squeeze page, collect subscribers, then market over and over to your leads via your autoresponder. This is the easiest way to make things work for you.

I totally agree with Mark Andrews, check out chrisfarrellmembership.com.
A good advice: Most people spend much more time and more money in the quest to make money online. Be prepared. You will be spending money. But keep control over your budget. A lot of people get frustrated and give up, and think they never will make it online. At times you might feel overwhelmed, but sign up for a program and stick to it. If you are patient and stick to what you learn and implement, you have a great chance of success online.

But when I found this forum, the live feedback from so many people with varying degrees of experience, I found to be tremendous. Its something you really can't find elsewhere. You don't have to limit yourself to WF of course, there is some excellent advice on this thread, like pursuing certain membership sites. But for educating yourself in general, and even specifically, the Warrior Forum can't be beat. I would suggest writing down every question you have about Internet Marketing right now and then spend a week or so answering them all so you have a good level of understanding on the basics of business, marketing, affiliate marketing. The basics of a good marketer. Then pick ONE, this is so important I'll say it again, ONE method and stick to it until you see profit. Overcome every obstacle that rears its ugly head. Create a 90 day plan with your main goal at the end. Work backwards and establish monthly, weekly, and daily goals.

I know this sounds like alot of work, but that is exactly what Internet Marketing is. Once you spend alot of time in it it will become much easier. The big difference between someone making money and not making money is intelligent educated perseverance.

Check out with Chris Farrell if you are not familiar with things such as web design, squeeze page creation,FTP,hosting, auto responder etc.

Alex Jeffreys is another good way to get started but it is not really in lament and it might get bored since each video is about 30 minutes.Nevertheless, his products are over delivered and is definitely worth the price.

My advice to you is to spend time thinking on the strategy u can implement by reading forums, articles, videos etc and after that, focus on that strategy. Any strategy can be a good strategy if you spend time, passion and hard work in it.

        Take action.

I know it can become overwhelming learning a new topic. The key is to stay focused and put the new knowledge into practice as soon as possible.

It can be easy to become a professional student. You buy the latest course that promises easy money. The truth is that Internet marketing requires work. There are tools and tricks that make it easier but you will have to work it.

Starting out, I would recommend you get involved in the communication on sites like warrior forum. Ask your questions and try out the advice.
Sooner or later you will find something that works for you.

          My 2 cents buddy :

1 - FOCUS on one thing at a time. This is very important as many people get lost in information overload and end up making no money.

2 - Choose an information source that is trusted, meaning choose someone who is recognized to deliver value. I also recommend Alex Jeffreys material. There was a WSO for $27 for one of his program a few days ago.

Or choose a popular WSO in the warrior special offers section and stick to it.

3 - Keep working : here is something very important you should keep in mind : Making money online is absolutely possible. And even better : making LOTS of it online is absolutely possible too.

4 - You are in a wonderful place buddy, do not underestimate the power of this forum that can help learn stuff, networking, and make money !

5 : TAKE ACTION. With #1, this is one of the most important success factor in this business, and in any business for that matter. But again, information overload and shiny object syndrom are major obstacles if you let them hit you.

A vendor has a product which he sells for, let's say, $100.

That same vendor has an affiliate program that pays, let's say, 50% commission.

You join that affiliate program, potentially through an affiliate network like Clickbank or Commission Junction.

Now you get your "hop link" to the product, which is a special link that says you get paid the commission when people buy from that link.

You go tell people about the product, and give them your link.

When someone clicks on your link and goes on to buy the product, they pay the same $100 they would have paid anyway.

And because you did the work of getting that person to click the link and buy, the company credits you with the commission - in this case, 50% of $100, or $50.

Most companies actually pay commissions once a month, and only if you have made a certain amount - usually $50 or $100. Some companies have further requirements, like a certain number of transactions, or an account active for a certain period of time. Sometimes they withhold a percentage of your commissions until the refund period expires.

But in most cases, once you are making consistent sales on an ongoing basis, you start getting monthly checks from the vendor or the affiliate network.

I’d say start with affiliate marketing but keep in mind that the real money is made with your own products. Don't let the stiff competition in affiliate marketing scare you away. There are some strategies you can use to effectively find your feet in this.
    1. Choose a good product to promote
Do not make the common mistake of selling the popular products everyone else is selling. Do a simple research first to know if the product is in demand in the market. Also, make sure that the product you'll choose is of good quality.
    2. Do some pre-selling
Most affiliates conduct pre-selling to qualify the leads they will be referring to the merchant's page. This will increase conversion rates because only interested individuals will see the sales page. One thing you can do here is to buy the product you are promoting, and write an honest review about it.
    3. Be capable enough of driving traffic to the merchant's sales page
This is basically the most difficult task you’ll face. In doing this, you should decide first how you will attract traffic towards your affiliate website. You can go for paid advertising or you can spend time creating authority sites that are content rich and with affiliate advertising placed within them. It is good if you can use both strategies.
The nature of the traffic you drive to your affiliate site also matters. You should be able to send highly-targeted traffic, or else, your conversion rates will not be sufficient to cover the cost of advertising.

There are a few ways you can go about approaching internet marketing. You have to decide on a model
    - Wholesales dropshipper
    - Affiliate Marketing
    - Product Launching
    - Auction Site
    - Blog & Reviews site

All of these work! There is no "best" model for internet marketing. It all come down to what suits you best. Lets say you just started out and worry about having something to sell, you can go with affiliate marketing. This model of internet marketing allows you to start with no product at hand while still being able to earn. You're actually acting like a middleman by promoting the vendor's product and drawing clients to his site. If you are good at writing sales copy, this model of internet marketing may suits your preference. Being said that, you don't need to restrict yourself to only just one model.

After familiarizing yourself with internet marketing, you can jump from say affiliate marketing to launching a product yourself. This create a synergy for your business. Now you're both a vendor and affiliate. This can be very profitable if you do it right.

If you're new to internet marketing, the most important thing is just to get started. Once you get started you will see how internet marketing works. So dont procrastinate anymore and start something rightaway! Good Luck Buddy

My best advice is to remember that there are SOOOO many different ways to make money online. Whatever you decide to get involved with, stick with it or you'll never see a return just constantly purchasing new information and giving up on old projects to work on new ones.

There are simply an unlimited number of ways to make money online...affiliate marketing definitely being one of them. CPA is probably the most profitable form of affiliate marketing because you are getting paid from leads, not just sales.

If you are taking the affiliate route, I would suggest one of two ways, or both.

    1. Sign up for Warrior Plus and Clickbank...find the higher converting offers and promote them. You can make good money by sending out solo ads to these offers (solo ad: pay someone to send a promo email with your link to their list) until you get your own list built up to which you can promote the offers to.

    2. Find some high payout CPA, and CPL offers and promote. These are much easier to promote using free methods (facebook, twitter, pinterest, etc.). If you need a good program to start with, you can make 500-700% commissions with the link in my signature.
