Hello,

I keep reading about list building and how it is a successful tool for IM. But, I just need help to get started with it. I have two sites up so far.

Dogs r funny - which is a blog of funny dog photos and videos. I use to use adsense on there til they banned me. Now I am thinking of using adbrite. I dont know what kind of ads to put on there. Any ideas?

Eco friendly dog products - Is a blog with products that are "green" and I started this website last night with amazon affiliate links. Was thinking of adding links maybe from adbrite or some other ad website. Any good ones?

My question is which website is good to start a list on? Both or one of them? And how do I start it? Is aweber the way I should go?
PLEASE HELP!

Thanks,
Anna

Put an opt-in form on both websites and offer something of value for free in return. For example, a list of the top ten eco-friendly dog products and point out the advantages of each.

I personally use Aweber and I recommend it. I believe the first month costs $1, and then $20 per month after that up to a certain amount of subscribers. MailChimp offers a free alternative but I believe it has limitations on both the number of subscribers and the number of emails you can send each month. I haven't used it, so can't comment on how it compares with Aweber.

As far as learning about list building, there are plenty of valuable threads around the WF so I suggest reading around and implementing some of the stuff you learn. But an opt-in like I said before should get you off to a decent start.

I would only focus on 1 site at a time and aweber or getresponse would the best autoresponders to use.

Make sure that you get some dog related offers from clickbank or CPA networks and email the products to your list sporadically. In between provide your list members with outstanding free content to build up a re-pore.

I've wrriten a post on my blog which compares both companies

The second site is WAYYY better. It will attract people who have dogs so you definitely should build a list there. Are you getting any traffic to the site ? I would place my own banner ads on that site pointing to a high converting squeeze page.

The first site is kind of like all the other funny sites out there like uberhumor.com . They get a lot of traffic but its not targeted and most people reading it are just looking to waste time and most likely not in buying mode.

    Hope this helps.
