Just wondering. Im planning on building some new sites and im thinking Amazon is the way to go now? LOL.......im really eager to get started. Is Amazon the new thing now? Browsing through some threads seems like Amazon has gained some steam over clickbank now.

Depending on what niche you're in. I'm an Amazon affiliate marketer myself.

The affiliate network you choose has a lot to do with the niche you are in and the products you promote. Before you go just signing up for programs, you need to decide what niche market you are going to be in. The market you choose should be one that's profitable AND one you like. Here are some examples: dating, weight loss, learn Spanish, pet care industry, video games...Some niche markets consist of products that are physical (in which case you'd use Amazon) while some consist of both digital and physical products (like weight loss). Get it?

    Good luck,
    Joey

My suggestion is to build you niches & websites for offline businesses.
Online businesses has competitors to death...)
It's better for you to find a good business such as lawyers with a great commission & target different legal keywords in your local market to get him customers & taking your commissions which is not $10-$20 & normally you can earn $1000s sometimes...

At present I am not using this plugin for Amazon! I still do it manually as I send my readers to reviews on Amazon, but if you sell products it is definitely worth a try!..

    Why not choose both?

I quite like Amazon. They have smaller commissions but they have a HUGE range of products, pay on time and give you a 24 hour cookie so sometimes you'll nab a sale just because people bought something else within that 24 hour window from amazon.

Amazon is good but some times the commissions can be too small unless you target the high priced items. Also the niches to target will matter

Click bank offers higher commissions and the niches are also many. However, it is mainly for digital products and if your are interested in promoting physical products, it may be possible.

It would require the same effort to make it big in both platforms. But the techniques of doing it would slightly be different.

So the whole thing here is about the niches you want to target and which type of products you would like to promote.

I had the same question myself. Good feedback from all of you guys. After reading all your feedbacks I guess all comes down to the actual niche and yet best way is to use both.

dont worry about commission with amazon compared with clickbank because it works out in a lot of cases to be better commission at amazon because you get a better conversion rate.

    for example.

clickbank: $97 product (75% commission) = 1% conversion rate so for every 1000 people you would get $727.5

amazon: $499 ipad (4% commission) = 15% conversion rate so for every 1000 people you would make $2994

amazon: $97 product (4%-8.5% commission) = 15% conversion rate so for every 1000 people you would make $582 - $1236.75

amazon: people buy what they need and want. people searching for product
clickbank: people buy what they are told they need and want. people searching for a solution.

I mainly focus on Amazon but there are two ways to look at it.
Amazon pays less commission than clickbank...a lot less.
A clickbank sale will often earn you $27, whereas a typical Amazon sale could be $10.

The kicker though is that Amazon tends to convert a lot better than Clickbank. This is because people searching for Amazon products are already in a buying mindset. They are not expecting a freebie as some people that buy Clickbank info products might.

why not set your main page to 10 post then use a mix of amazon and clickbank products as long as they pertain to the same niche?

This is a great thread. I have had success with Amazon. I use Amazon for most of my sites because most of my sites are physical product based.

I do have a few sites that are related to solving a problem so I promote Clickbank products on those sites. But find it's harder to convert Clickbank products. Not that I'm complaining but you need to work a little harder to get the sale with Clickbank.

I would roll with Clickbank. Amazon can give you the boot and seize your earnings at any time for months.

Amazon give you the boot? You must be confusing Amazon with Google Adsense!! hahaha

Anyways, since the OP said they are going to go for Amazon I think that is a smart move. Your main focus should be to get as many visitors to amazon as possible.

Make all the pictures on your site clickable and directed to amazon; all your call to actions are bold so they constantly see them.

Like most things its all a numbers game, but in the end, let Amazon do what it does best: Make people buy!

Amazon give the boot fairly often as well. But yeah, adsense is definitely a lot more well known for kicking affiliates to the curb.

I also agree that amazon is the better choice. You can make some mad money off clickbank, but amazon is a lot easier for starting out. The conversions are way higher, and most of the products sell themselves.

To be a successful clickbank affiliate, you really need to have exceptional sales copy.

After thinking it over im going to focus on amazon. Simply because they convert better. I feel like if you can get someone to amazon they have a decent chance of buying something within 24 hours.

Thanks for all of the replies guys! Amazon just seems more solid. Im not too keen on the idea of selling some of those ebooks on clickbank.

The majority of my sites are Amazon sites and I think they are a great way to get started. It really doesn't take much to get someone to Amazon. Once they're there, Amazon will handle the rest. I have a small amount of products that are actually bought through the direct link when compared to the number of "other items" that are bought just by getting them to Amazon.

Depends on what product you promote, either clickbank and amazon can be profitable. But it's true that physical item converts better than digital item.

I have a lot of sites in different languages and for most of these Amazon has proved the better choice. Generally speaking, my experience is that Clickbank is not the best choice for websites in ohter languages, but it is my favorite for my english language sites.

However, in my opinion it is all about the niches you target.

The best approach is to build websites that cover topics that you are passionate about.

      Consider:
      Amazon
      MaxBounty (CPA Network)
      Peerfly (CPA Network)
      Clickbank
      Shareasale
