Weekly Contest on Facebook

Hello,
I would like to have a weekly contest on my facebook business page where people post photos they have taken. Can anyone offer me any pointers? Any legal issues to consider? Thanks

    I do not think there are any legal requirements you should be concerned with, but hey, I am not a lawyer. I think it could be a really good way to get people to contribute, but of course it can also backfire if people do not send in anything. I would back it up in your other communications, which means it be an incentive for others to join your fan page. Weekly seems a bit too often to hand out prizes, perhaps a monthly contest instead? I would also post the winner image to your website and write about it there, this might drive more people to join your fan page as well.

      Hello, I just read this article from 2010 where it does mention some regulations:

      6 Tips for Running Promotions Within Facebook’s Guidelines

      Anyone who wants to run a promotion on Facebook first needs to get approval from an account representative at the company. In order to access a representative though one first needs to spend around $10,000 in facebook advertising. Prohibited promotions include those that market to people under 18, to countries embargoed by the U.S. or require the “purchase of a product, completion of lengthy task or other such considerations.”
      Has any of this changed? Our contest was going to be targeted at our customers who purchased products. Thanks
