Here's a tip from an affiliate campaign I just ran
that let me get #5 in Russell Brunson's recent launch.

"When you are writing your landing page or email
point out some sort of flaw with the main product
and then offer a unique bonus that fixes that flaw
and now makes the main product perfect but only
    if you have the bonus"

With that strategy I was able to sell more products
for Russell then people with 300,000+ people on
their list. I made just over $2,000 in commissions
    with that tip.

Anyone else got any cool tips? Obviously, i'm not in
the running but someone said people who make
5-6 figures don't share tips so I had to come in here
    and post a tip. ;-)

$50 still up for grabs to people with positive attitudes
and good helpful tips for others.

At this writing, there are only 4 entries - 36 more to go, with just 6 hours to go - not realistic in the least bit.

If you really want people to respond to this, make it a one-week contest. That way, less people will be turned off to this, and you'll actually have a shot at getting over 40 entries.

Furthermore, it shouldn't be required to listen to your radio show to find out who's won - that just seems like a way to increase your stats again.

If you change the rules and make this a contest with a realistic chance of anyone winning that $50, I'll gladly share one of my most powerful tips - one that gets my articles in the Top-10 most viewed on Ezinearticles time and time again.

WOW u have GOT to be kidding me -
I wanted 40 because I didnt want to have to award $50 of my money to a handful of ppl
when my goal for this contest was to build a resource of tips for affiliate marketers..
      - it was an incentive for others to get the word out about the the contest so that there
would actually be a list of tips for others that want to make more money as an affiliate

I may be wrong, but is that not what the warrior forum is for???
...a place where like minded ppl that want to make money online share their ideas...
or am i in the wrong place?

Yes, I wanted to get at 40 tips... that I could share with others - it is really that hard to share one freaking technique? It's not like i was asking you to share you deepest darkest secrets...

I mean geesh! if everyone had your mentality there wouldnt be any education resources out there... and if you thought hard enough WITHOUT the negative mind frame - maybe others reading this post would be like, "oh wow - that person had a great tip - let me see what other info he has" ...they might even click ur sig links and OMG you might actually make a sale for giving out valuable information

On to ur next whine, the internet show is a FREE SHOW - WHERE I GIVE AWAY FREE INFO TO HELP OTHERS MAKE MORE MONEY ONLINE - it is that much of a stretch to think that ppl in the warrior forum would want to learn more ways to make more money FOR FREE? OMG - heaven forbid i give a valuable resource for warriors to make more money...

TO the dreamk killers - good luck making money online i hope others see you for the true person you showed in here today

The to positive ppl that see that value in helping others - sorry you wont be getting $50, but hey you get $20 for just sharing one tip - pm me your paypal email and I'll send out ur cash

    Justin and Chaunna,

Thanks for trying, and I mean that in a nice way.

Don't worry, the negativity of some people here as been noted.

Unfortunately, there were people who were ready to pounce. Maybe they aren't familiar with Chaunna and assumed the worst.

I can guarantee it wouldn't have been like this if certain other people ran the same contest.

You couldn't come out ahead on this, because my guess if you just flat out asked, people would have expected something in return.

But, you were nice enough to offer a cash prize to get people to contribute! To contribute in the main forum where EVERYONE could read it for FREE.

I'm with you guys, the cynics and negativity were not called for. I made a simialr "mistake" way back when I first started by offering to sign up for a yearly account at AWeber so a Warrior could get the commission. It was quite a drubbing - by the way, no one got the easy commission.

Again, I wonder what would happen if a more "established" Warrior would have made a similar post.

Hang in there, and don't let the #$%^&s get you down.

Chaunna & Justin - Forget those negative *******s.

    Here's my tip:

Sell the outcome of the product... not the product itself.

For example if it is a weight loss product. Sell them the image of themselves fitting into that bikini and looking sexy at the beach... not a 150 page ebook about eating less calorie than you burn.

    Chaunna & Justin,

Excellent thread so far - don't worry about the naysayers. Anyway, here's my contribution:

Create a "trainwreck" on your blog

    1. Give a good review of a product on your blog.
    2. Leave a scathing, hateful comment under a different alias.
    3. Argue back and forth a few times - you defending the product, the other alias putting it down for ludicrous reasons.
    4. Have 3 or 4 other aliases comment on your blog coming to your defense and giving reasons why they like the product.

Psychology here: People love a good argument or debate. So, give them one. Create the controversy or buzz. Make sure you win the argument with proof. Leave well placed affiliate links. Let nature take it's course.

Or, create a "clueless newbie" blog (This is the reverse of the first.)

    1. Write an idiotic review of a product, why you hated it, and etc. Post on free blog.
    2. Make sure the review post is short and controversial. Include several misspellings.
    3. Write a comment as yourself telling the "clueless newbie" at length why the product is good, that you have proof at your website, and that smearing someone's good name on a public blog is not wise. (give link to your website)
    4. Have "others" chime in to agree with you in the next 3-4 comments.
    5. Clueless newbie does not respond after this.

Psychology here: People love a hero. If you step in and tactfully correct the newbie, give evidence of the quality of the product ... you appear to be the level-headed, authoritative voice of reason that people can trust.

Anyway, a couple of methods that can work for affiliates if done correctly. It's not for everybody. Some may feel uncomfortable with the "fiction" aspect of this style of marketing.

Here's my thinking though: People want to be entertained. People want to know the good, bad, and ugly of a product they are considering buying. These are simply two ways of giving them both

Find out when hot products are going to be released, create an affiliate website and optimize it for SEO before anyone else has a chance to. Then when the hot product is released (for example: when oprah announces her new book club addition) you make loads of cash from being on the top of the search engines for the best search terms.

Whatever the most unique idea is, I say that you should do that, but do it wearing nothing but a Speedo at a very busy Starbucks on a Sunday morning.

Make sure to have a cardboard sign with your URL in plain site for everyone to see.

    That'd be pretty unique.

Ok I need your $50, hope I'm the winner, here is my tip:

Find the product/service that you has passion in it, for example, you are a dog lover, find a dog grooming ebook and go out to promote to fellow dog lovers, promote it until you make your first sale and then expand your market reach to make more money i.e. advertise in more places, following this simple rule you'll be successful in affiliate marketing.

    Recap:
    * Find a product that you has a passion in.
    * Go out to promote until you make your first sale.

P.S. If I won please PM me for my PayPal email, cheers!

This one using your facebook account :
    1. Create Facebook groups in your niche
    2. Invite all of your friends
    3. Put your website in the groups page <warning:facebook doesn't allow affiliate links>
    4. If people like your groups they will invite their friends to your group
    5. More people = more traffic to your website = more affiliate $$$

Ok, there are many posts here for newbies to start affiliate marketing...the best way to start would be the free methods of article marketing.

I won't go into the ins and outs because there are some fantastic threads here about creating a blog with a review of a product, doing your long-tail keyword research and submitting articles to directories and linking back to your blog and also linking back to some of your articles, etc....

But my tip is for your author's bio in your article to give you the best chance that your reader will click through to your blog...try to issue a challenge to your reader in your author's bio...people can't help but rise to a challenge (especially online as they have anonimity to protect them!!!)...

I can't believe someone thanks the post about outright scamming people for CPA profits. That is really sad.

BTW - the reason the thread tanked is the scarcity relating to the 40 people limit. Scarcity minded people will not post under that rule.

If there was no limit the post would have flowed.

My tip: pay for one of your affiliates to join a paid membership forum to carry your affiliate link in the signature file.

The most effective technique is go offline and advertise where the people who are most desperate for your product will see.
A recent example: Advertisement for a "Work at home" product just outside the office of a recruitment agency near a bus stop. It works, especially in this depression. many people come out of the office, very disappointed that there are no jobs and wait for the bus. While waiting their eye catches my ad (colorful poster with a strong call to action), the URL is short and it redirects to the merchant site. That's it, the merchant does the selling, not me.
This is more effective and easier than targeting the same audience online as there is too much competition for this niche online.

PS: Just make sure the product that you are promoting is not a scam and people can actually make money if they put in some hours. You don't want to feel guilty for making money out of people who are desperate and in financially bad situation
PPS: Hint: This is also a great technique for getting excellent writers at a cheap rate. There are many people who write really good but they don't know anything about making money online. The only downside is that you have to spend some emails in educating them about how to write SEO rich articles.

Here's one I haven't seen in this thread yet:

Give away a very complementary and overwhelming bonus(s) to anyone that orders through your affiliate link.

There is software out there to make this easier but you can always simply have the purchasers send you and email with their purchase info and then you'll send them a email with a download link to the bonus.

    Extra work but it works.

I didn't get to read everyones reply but dammn people stop being so negative. I think we all got the point after the first person saying "dude, no one will give you the best idea for $50!" And for you negative dudes who think that, I'm pretty sure no one will ever give you a free tip because that's what you believe.

I got started in real estate and made 135k within 3-6 months for free. people are really out there to help you out!!!

I also just got started with internet marketing and just networked my way up with all the top guys. Bob the teacher gave me one of the most amazing ideas while we were having dinner, Arnel from beyondsixpackabs gave me the secrets to video marketing, and even tom beal gave me some good advices while we were having breakfast.

my point is that people are really out there to help out even for free... SOME of you warriors are so PATHETIC! if it's not positive, keep it to yourself... does it make your day better by saying "NO ONE WILL GIVE YOU THAT ADVICE! MAYBE for 3K!"

Chaunna, sorry that I can't help you out with affiliate marketing but if I can give you an advice... just continue doing what you do and keep looking for advices from people. you'll find a mentor that will help you out through your success! ROCK ON, BROTHA!

    Use TORRENTS.

Create a torrent pdf with a catchy title so it will get downloads. Use words like TOP SECRET, ULTIMATE, UNDERGROUND etc.

The .pdf will be a document which ultimatly promotes your affiliate link so get creative. Possably a review or several, or any other imaginative ideas you can think of.

TORRENTS work great for promoting Adult Affiliate links and Dating links by the way

Here is the best tip you can use. Learn how to write a couple of reports and give them away with the product that you are selling. Most IM's don't do that. If its one those product that you can't change the sales page the bonus report will give you a little edge.

The report written by you will serve as a bonus for ordering the product from you, will make all the difference.
