I'd go on Iwriter and make about $250 as soon as possible.

Maybe 1 month if I was taking my time.

Then I'd buy a dotcom, a years worth of hosting and auto-repsonder.

Then I'd start blogging in my pre-selected niche.

My answer's about the same as Fin's, just above.

I'd need a proper domain-name and hosting (I might even start with reliable free hosting, but not Blogger/Squidoo/HubPages), and I'd start a blog/site in a decent niche (not IM/MMO!) with ClickBank-ish products available, and attract traffic by article syndication. I'd do whatever I have to do (writing articles for others?) to be able to afford to use Aweber or GetResponse, too - fortunately they cost very little indeed. But I wouldn't seriously try to start a business without a domain, hosting (maybe free) and an autoresponder (definitely not a free one). I'd make quite sure I'm not dependent on Google for my traffic: to me, that's not a reliable/dependable/secure business.

In a sense, once you "know a bit" about IM, it's all really about knowing what not to do/use, I think.

The mistakes are all out there, waiting to be made by the unwary.

        Alexa has a good plan.

You could start building a list with this also.

Build a list and keep sending them back to your new posts, and keep syndicating articles. You could start doing this and see some good results rather quickly.

Then you could keep the site, and build it up more or sell it on flippa once it is earning.

There are lots of ways to earn money online.

I started in IM about 8 months before I got made redundant and I basically did the above.
I had enough money to cover my domain, autoresponder and hosting for a year and I concentrated on building a wordpress blog pushing affiliate products from clickbank.

It was a real struggle at first but now I'm reaping the rewards of my hard work and determination to succeed!

Do a month's worth of Fiver gigs, take the money and build a small but target list and sell them products which offer instant commissions. This way you'll have the capital to buy some more traffic and so on until eventually you'll end up with a nice targeted list of buyers and your future conversions will grow exponentially.

Well, there you go: we always get a wide range of Warrior opinion in these threads.

You'd honestly advise someone starting off in IM with no money to borrow money to "invest" in backlinks?!

Call me a skepchick, but one really doesn't have to be Einstein to wonder whether the potential agenda suggested by your username might just possibly have influenced your reasoning the tiniest bit, there?!

I find it just as likely that his reasoning influenced his username.

If you honestly think backlinks are the most important thing, why wouldn't you focus your efforts - and quite possibly your business model - on them?

It's very easy to get cause and effect reversed.

This is what we did last week and this was free:
    1) Find a partner on a skype group (free)
    2) discuss and find a topic for a webinar over skype (free)
    3) Open up a 30 day free GoToWebinar account free)
    4) Advertise the broadcast fervently on forums, skype groups and anywhere that is free (free)
    5) Invite a well-known guest who might mail their list for you (free)
    6) Max the webinar out and gather 100 or more new contacts (free)
    7) Have a great webinar anaise your prole (free)
    8) Market your list using an autoresponder that offers a free account for small lists (free) (ie. imnica)
    9) Sit back and see if you made any money from your affiliated mailings free.
    10 Rinse & Repeat (free)

ok, you do need a paypal account too (free) and you could benefit from a website and email address although gmail could well work (albeit not so well I guess)

Now,we did do the above in a way but we didn't spam our list at all, that just a way to try to make money if that is all you want. In the end, the above was pretty much free if you want to make it that way so this fits the bill I think
    Hope you enjoyed this offering.

then put that money either into ZeekRewards.com or BannersBroker.com and wait patiently for that money to compound slowly over time.

While you're waiting, couchsurf or get a job.

In less than a year **if you put a decent amount into either of the programs** you should be making enough passively to live a very comfortable life

The answer to this question is based on the assumption that you have "no money".....really?? I would find it hard to believe that you have no money at all. Are you a himalayan monk? My experience of coaching people has been that even people with severely limited funds can find the money if they truly have a burning desire to succeed. They are prepared to do WHATEVER it takes to see there dreams/goals become a reality. There are an unlimited number of things you can do to earn extra money to invest in your business. Many "gurus" peddle these IM courses saying you can make 1 gadgillion zillion dollars working for home and with little or no money.....one word B***S**T!! If you cannot or are not prepared to find $10 per month to invest in your business, quit now and save yourself the heartache and GET A JOB!

Here's the system I'd use to get started:

      (1) Using the free OpenOffice word processor, I'd write a short ebook packed with useful information on a popular topic I'm familiar with. I'd use the free google keyword tool to find keywords to help write the title and prepare the sales page. I'd download a free copy of Article Assistant to help with gathering facts and ideas for the ebook.

      (2) I'd include some free images from sxc.hu or morgueful.com and use the best one to create a simple ebook cover using one of the many free image programs available like photoscape or irfanview. I'd save the document in .pdf format which is easy with OpenOfice and the main reason I suggest using it.

      (3) I'd design an html sales page in a free html program called easyHTML, using all the hints from a brilliant free ebook "Sales Page Success Formula" - search google to find it.

      (4) I'd put the ebook for sale on jvzoo.com and put my newly minted sales page onto the free sales page that jvzoo provides. I'd include the ebook in their affiliate system. A free paypal account is also necessary in order to accept payments.

      (5) To stimulate traffic to the sales page I've now got on jvzoo, I'd use all the following free services: socialadr.com, facebook, and linkedin where I'd join several groups, participate, and post an ad in their free promotion sections to advertise the ebook and invite affiliates to promote it.

I'd also use stumbleupon, twitter, build a quick and easy free squidoo lens, create a quick and easy free blogger blog, use forum signature links, write related articles and submit to article directories and scribd.

      (6) If possible (not available in all US states) I'd also join amazon.com's free affiliate program and include their ads on the blogger.com blog.

      (7) If I wanted to make several similar copies of one article to submit to directories or use on blogger or squidoo, I'd use the excellent free online article re-writer (hand-written not machine-written) at Article ReWriter Spin Your Articles Free and download a free copy of article toolchest to spin the articles.

There you have it. A no money system: no domain name, no website, no software or services to buy. Just a computer, access to the internet, and a healthy dose of effort. This is enough to get anyone started and it won't cost a cent.

-All of the following are considered plagiarism:

      • turning in someone else's work as your own

If I'm getting lazy and having quite a spare time, this is what I'll do :

Finding "get paid to be a website tester" on Google. There are lots of them, i.e. Analysia.com, Userfeel.com, usertesting.com, and whatusersdo.com

You'll get paid $10 per testing for 15 minutes. Test 10 websites, you get $100.

All you have to do is navigate through the website, speak your mind on microphone, speak up what's annoying and what's good and spend 15 minutes/ website, and gave the feedback about the website.

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

But if I want to walk affiliate marketing path, this is what I'll absolutely do (actually I did it....except I purchased a domain and hosting from the start....) :

    - Make a free landing page on weebly or bravenet or yola
    - Get a free high quality autoresponder, i.e. Listwire and Imnicamail free version (that enables 1000 subs)
    - Write a very good, personalized e-courses and point that to some aff products
    - Joining 3 forums on my niche and posting like crazy, with the optin link on my sig
    - Finding high-traffic blogs and become their guest bloggers ===> optin link
    - Posting vids on Youtube ===> optin link
    - When I have made some money, reinvest by purchase a domain and hosting, then redirect the free website to the new premium website

  • Although you may not have money, you do have something else - access to know how. The search facility on this forum is probably the nearest thing to a money printing machine there is on this forum. At your finger tips are a wealth of ideas. Some are standalone ideas and some can be turned into gold if you put together the various aspects.

It is this that you can turn no money into hard money and I'm busy developing that notion further. Regardless of whether you've got no money the gold standard is having your own paid domain, own hosting and so on. But how do you get there with no money.

Easy - you use other peoples money and mix it with your imagination. I'm not certain precisely how many warriors there are on here. Whilst I'm certain it is a lot, it isn't by any means everyone. That means a lot of people have no idea about this place with all its riches which puts you at a distinct advantage.

Generate money by becoming a middle man for those who don't know. Someone running a service that's in demand - become a middle man for it in your local area. Someone selling a product on WSO that can help a business? Become a middle man for it.

Whatever you do however have an exit plan for the cash to build you business. With your first profits, buy a proper domain and some proper hosting so that you get to building your business as strongly as possible as quickly as possible.

Of course all of this is only possible with action.

If you think "Oh my, i don't have money, so how can i start in IM?"..you already have the wrong attitude. One of the most "fascinating" aspects of IM is in fact that doing it is mostly free or only costs very little. Re-investing comes MUCH, MUCH later.

you can write a short report on any popular topic in this forum , and offer it with full PLR.

Since you'll need $40 to post a wso and since you don't have a single $ so you can make a blogger blog, put together a simple to the point sales copy with main benefits, go to ejunkie and get free signup by using a coupon code which you can find on Google that can give you free ejunkie account for a month or more than that, and then upload your ebook to your ejunkie account, put their Buy Now button on your blog, make a catchy signature line in your WF profile, and then actively participate in the forum without spamming your posts here, and within a week or earlier (if your ebook's topic is hot) you will start making sales.

For putting everything in action you won't need a single cent.

I did have no money when I started.

The first things I did were writing articles for magazines (which didn't really pay all that well at $20 to $100 an article).

The most profitable thing I did early on was writing a report and online press release for a real estate agent to get them to the top of google and to give them a tool that would help convert prospects into clients listing their houses.

For that I think I got paid something like $1,000 to $1,500.

It took me quite some time after that trying other things before I realized that the easiest to get money was in providing services to regular businesses.

They have the money and the business infrastructure and they're quite happy to pay you over and over if you can bring them in real sales.

      Kindest regards,
      Andrew Cavanagh

I always find it intriguing when folks say they have no money to spend. In a huge bunch of cases, it turns out the same folk have a couple of dollars here to spend for Starbucks, a couple of dollars there to spend for the movies, etc.etc.etc.

Perhaps you *do* have the money simply choose not to spend it.

Funny how nobody says, I want to start a real life business but don't have money to spend......

Why should the mindset of IM be any different?

You perform services. That is exactly what you do. You likely have some skills that would be useful, so you look for those type of gigs, or you learn how to write fairly good and then take some gigs on Digital Point. You won't make a lot there, but you can build up funds by being a forum poster for someone, for example, and then invest that money in a good brandable domain (don't fall for all this "exact searches" domain s**t), and hosting, and start learning the skills of setting up WordPress blogs and so on. Take it from there.

Get a loan from a friend, make money online, and then pay him back. Make sure you know what you are doing though. The last thing you need is to have no money for IM and then debt

I think if you started off with no money, your first question should be what assets do I have? Time? Skills? Contacts? Drive?

I get the impression that most people that start with internet marketing are low on skills and money. So they start with affiliate marketing.

And I don't see how not having money is that much an issue. If you for instance found a really good copywriter and a really good designer and asked if they would be willing to pay you a commission to get them clients why would they refuse? Odesk usually charge 10%, and many of those contractors have PayPal accounts. The difference, about 7.5% could be enough incentive for a beginner to build up a credit with either to eventually get get their services. And you would not have to breach any of Odesk's terms of service if you just did all your dealings away from their platform.

If I had no money to start -- I would spend time getting good at one skill.

Be that Wordpress -- or Photoshop -- or content creation -- or writing keyword rich blog posts -- or copywriting -- or something.....

There are enough free videos on YouTube -- and mix in asking questions here --- to get good at one particular skill --- within 4 or 5 weeks.

Then -- I would market my particular skill online.

Give a free example of your work -- or a free piece of writing if your copywriter -- a free image if you studied design etc etc....

Get a reputation for being good at your particular one skill -- and then you will slowly start to get referrals and paid work.

    Best of luck to you,

    Kindest

    Chris

I have started earning online with out any money except my computer and broadband cost.

But, I did not make it from Internet Marking though, it was started with freelancing projects. You do not need money to start working and earning online if you have the right attitude, skill and talent. Of course, you need money to invest later if you want to climb the next level o success.

    Thanks.

Find a niche, do some keyword research. After I found a set of keywords. I would then register a site on blogger and fill it with relating content and adsense. After that I would do some seo work.

You can offer your skills as services on places like fiverr, micro worker, elance and forums.

Once you have accumulated up to $100, you can start buying websites from forum digital point and WF for a cheap amount and selling on flippa for a higher amount.

At this point, you will be making some money while trying to horn your skills as an IMer.
