What kind of traffic have you guys received from going to forums related to your niche and posting relevant information (not spamming) and having a SIG that promotes and leads to your site.
Is the traffic worth the time?
Is the traffic convertible?

    I write a blog (or used to) and I got a decent amount of traffic from doing this. But it does take some time.

      As you can see from my sig, I don't.
      It works but not a wise use of your time.

    For me I see traffic from this depends on what you are promoting.

    What you must do is test and track, this is the only way you can answer your question.

    Every niche is different on how people react to your sig.
