A lot of people are told everyday either as a beginner or more intermediate internet marketer that the make money online niche or internet marketing niche is over saturated and extremely competitive,

That's it's almost IMPOSSIBLE to make money within the niche. So I want a raise of hands too see how many of you personally own a website or blog in the internet marketing niche.

It can be as simple as a journal, or personal blog.

Let's see the results !

I certainly haven't ever seen anyone say that, here.

I've seen a lot of people with a lot of experience and success advising beginners that they're about the worst possible "niches" for them as beginners, and that starting off in those "niches" is very commonly associated with complete failure, and actually I strongly suspect that that's all perfectly true.

But as a marketer, I have no experience of either.

Interesting. Well I'm sure a lot of people are curious to see if the niche is still effective and lucrative of course

        Don't be so sure...

Even if all the 6,497 members currently logged in would answer your useless question...

        a) it wouldn't help anybody to prove anything;
        b) it wouldn't be a representative sample of the 444,151 members

Also, don't forget, a lot of people do NOT want to share the niche they are in or their sites.

Go and do something more productive

My useless question? It was a perfectly legitimate question to ask. Your advising me to be productive? I'm not the one monitoring the "currently" logged in members or keeping my eye on number of members of the forum.

I think it's time for you to hit the sign out button and YOU start being productive. Aside from that, don't speak for anyone else but yourself. Where were your parents to teach you that?

If people would like to share, they will. If not, move along. Stop being rude to new members. There is no such thing as a useless question. Only a useless answer.

Maybe. But yours comes about as close as I've seen lately. And you haven't earned the right to be rude in return yet.

I ran a MMO/IM/MLM newsletter site for about five years. Made a little money here and there. Gave it up to look for greener pastures, where I could help people without teaching them how to compete with me.

I joined this forum about the time I gave up the other site, and now I help people here for my own reasons. Making money by selling "how to make money" isn't one of them.

    Hi Vtoy,
I think you're referring to the comment which people make "It's almost impossible to make money within the niche" isn't too far away from the truth. Let me qualify that by saying that I don't count making $12/mth with google ads "making money". Sure it is in the literal sense but I presume you're talking about the kind of money that can sustain a person in real life.
So that said, I have a blog/website related to making money online, I have many. My hand is in the air and I'm waiving it around. But I'm not sure what help it is to you to know that I have such a thing? Perhaps you can elaborate on what you want to take away from this thread other than a show of hands. Sorry if that sounds snooty, but I'm guessing from your rebuttal of the previous person's post that you have something else on your mind, other than just getting people to put their hands in the air.
    Cheers

I have an IM blog, but it does not sell anything and it has no ads for TBS, Hostgator, BMD or anything else.

It is my personal collection, of thoughts, data, resources and notes, I started it to clear up my hard drive and gather together everything so I can find it.

In addition when it is finished it will be there to help people, who knows I might even put an opt-in form on it.

I would be one of the people who would raise there hand. However, it is not the niche that makes me the most money by far.

Once I figured it out for myself, I thought I might as well go back and tell the people how I did it so that they might be able to do better too.

And I am one of those people that suggest you start off with an easier niche to make some money as a newbie.

Sure there are people who can make a ton of money in th IM or make money niche but they usually create their own products and I don't think most newbies know how to do that or how to run all the back end things like customer service and payment processing.

Whatever information you were trying to get from this question, I hope I have helped you.

If not, you might want to rephrase your question.

    :-)

To answer your question directly, I think more than 85% of this forum members have blogs or websites earning for them in IM niche... Some personal blogs have always section for IM...That is very basic..

People who are earning online always wanted to blog about IM, and when you write about IM in your personal blog, and you have ads in it, your blog is part of IM niche. If you check CB, there are more IM products than any other things so therefore, people are making lots of money with this niche.

Yes, IM is a big niche, but the main reason why it is a lucrative niche is for UPSELLS. People who buy in this niche usually buy MORE.

There are many niches that I am interested in but the UPSELL path is not clear, so in that case it would only be ONE or TWO sales.

The IM niche represents upsells of various shapes and sizes including online upsells and downsells, email offers, phone consultations, etc. etc.

I generate leads and can pay more because I know the "dollar per lead" I can get from all of the upsells that people will buy.

There are definitely other niches having nothing to do with IM or making money that have monthly membership programs that will make you a residual income andor upsells to markets who are always wanting more.

Raises hand. Doing one right now for launch.

The IM niche is so successful in many aspects, but as others have said, there are lots of other niches that can be more effective.

Not so much more effective as faster results and profits with same or even less amount of work.
