How would I do this?

I thought about starting an online rap battle website. My plan is to have 2 boxes next to each other which will be the 2 person's webcam and at the bottom it will be a chat room for peoples to comment while looking at battles.

I want to run the website with wordpress but I will need the webcam plugin... Does it exist? Is this plan possible or will I have to know HTML coding and stuff?

    From what I'm thinking this requires a lot of coding.

    Have you thought of just having a site where people post up videos of themselves rapping then visitors can vote on the ones they like?

    Then at the end of the week or something you contact the owners of the 2 videos with the most votes and have them send in a new rap video then have people vote a winner out of those 2?

    I think that will give you less headaches.

      Sounds like a pretty good idea.

      I'm have a lot of connections in the music business and know a lot of artist who will want to be involved if it brings them exposure.

      You might need to find someone who can build the site for you however, this doesn't sound like something that can be done with a simple plugin.

      I would go to Vworker.com and see who I can find who can do it.

          Just curious... how would you handle the audio if the battles are side by side? I guess the users would select one and hit play and then select the other and hit play?

            it would be more like rounds, 1 minute each. after that one minute, sound would get cut off and the second artist will be able to do his thing.

              If coding is involved, don't worry, you can outsource to "Warrior for Hire" for very good price or ODESK.COM where you find skilled people for 5th of the price you would normally pay.
