    Actually, that's not really too impressive. Lot's of 9 year olds can program, and he is using a dev kit (which isn't really all that hard, it's like using flash and creating a flash animation), so it's not really that big a deal... Reminds me of a "12-year old" kid a few years back who supposedly create an "awesome" flash website when Macromedia was still making waves with introducing flash (i.e., I think version 5.0, and it was still pretty novel with 'actionscript', etc)... basically all it was was is a publicity stunt, so his parents could create a web design "business" (which they did, using him to get lots of press coverage), and turned it into a very successful business 'overnight' because of the press coverage... (the parents used their kid as a funnel to get business, but the kid was as stupid looking as heck, and when asked real business questions couldn't answer them, his parents 'stepped' in because supposedly the limelight was pretty harsh for him...)

    What's impressive is that he knows 6 programming languages and his experience teaches us one thing; you make a successful program by solving a problem, not trying to be like everybody else or thinking too damn much. His sisters wanted an app, so he built one. I guarantee this kid, whose father is a pro in the field, would blow away most 9 year olds in this field.

    I was a pretty skilled programmer when I was 11 years old. Unfortunately I was programming an Apple ][+, and the closest thing we had to an iPhone was the large rotary dial telephone hanging on our wall.

    Kudos to that 9 year for creating the application and making it happen. Iphone apps are really hot right now and that kid just took advantage of it and profited.
