A Marketing Tool for catching leads. Please Help!!

Hello, I'm a newbie to the forum.

I'm after some help! I've recently established a web design company in the UK.

I stumbled across a web designer a few months ago who showed me the smartest marketing application ever. The tool was based on allowing you to analyse what businesses in your local area had websites and which ones didn't. Was pretty incredible I must say. Has anyone heard of something like this?

I'm planning on starting half a dozen cold calling campaigns so any advice or products that are still available out please recommend anything.

    I could give you a few very useful links on cold calling found all of em by reading through countless threads if thats what you are looking for let me know.

    May I ask what this wonderful marketing application could possibly be.

    I would also like to know what the application is.

    As far as "cold calling", the biggest obstacle I have found is getting to the decision maker for the business. Most business owners and decision makers (myself included), give specific instructions to secretaries or others answering the phone to take a message and not bother me. If the call gets to me, I don't answer it unless I know who it is (gotta love caller ID). You need to do something to get the attention of the decision maker or you will never make a sale.
