here's what Im trying to do

Here is what i want to create, yet I do not know how to do it.. SO, i thought I would ask you all.....

I want to be able to sell a service to my members, lets call them doctors......

Where the office submits the phone numbers of their patients, and I send out a text/ phone call/ email reminding them of their appointment or to send them a text about a special that is being offered in the doctors office...

SO, how do I create this? Software?

Any help would be great!

    You might not know this, but this already exists and is being WIDELY used by doctor offices, dentists, lawyers, etc.

    Depending upon your requirements I could probably write you something to do this. To be honest though you would probably be better off sub contracting this out to a company in India who could probably do it much cheaper than I would.

    Hi Circleofdocs, You would need an input system where you could put all of your clients details into a database. (about 5 minutes work), you would then need a method of sending texts, emails etc. There are companies out there which allow you to send texts through there gateways, the one I use is haysystems.com. There are multiple ways of sending the emails depending on how many you are going to send. If it is light send them from your server if not then get and outside company to send the mail on your behalf. You would then want to set up a cron which will know when the appointment date is a certain period of time away. You should be able to do all of that on bog standard web hosting using PHP. I am more of a Linux bash man, if you had a Linux VM/VPS I would suggest going down that route.

    The only thing I am unsure about is the phone call. Would that be from an actual person who would get an email reminder or from a computer?
