What type of hosting to use for massive membership site?

Hey guys i have a membership site in the making which i will be launching on clickbank, just wondering what type of hosting i should use? Shared, dedicated? What are your thoughts?

  • How many members do you anticipate and what type of content will you offer? - mainly text or video? If it's video you could host the video files separately on AmazonS3 or a similar file hosting service.

    But generally speaking I wouldn't try to use shared hosting for a busy membership site. I'd go with a web host who offers managed VPS hosting plans and then upgrade to a dedicated server if and when you need it.

    • After some market research my partner and i have expectations of at least 1000 active members. Obviously this is a low expectation but might give you a rough number to work with
