Learning to be a successful Internet Marketer

Good day fellow warriors!

This is my 2nd posting here as a warrior member. (1st post on the test forum, hehe) Hope I'm welcome here.

So I still learning on making money online but every time I got myself information overload and in the end, is either did little things or do nothing. Quite frustrated myself sometimes when seeing other people became successful Internet Marketer and I'm still the same dot.

I went to internet marketing classes before, self-study on internet marketing stuffs but hardly see much progress. Tried to do what others still doing now. For example, creating a opt-in page to capture leads, write articles and so on. Still no much progress.

I wondering if I do it the wrong way or not doing more enough. hmm?

Recently I just bought a domain and a plr product. Looking for writer to write articles for me because article marketing is the most familiar marketing technique I know. Want to test it out for couple of months to see if I can get any leads and make any sale.

Beside article marketing, what other ways are best for generating traffic?
Links building - how to do that?
forum posting - this is very difficult for me.
social media - how? just post url?
blog commenting - time consuming.
traffic exchange - takes too long.
Any other?

Some more now the big G search engine making so many changes, how to make G happy and rank high and well?

Erm.. okay, that's all my ranting. Hope to get fellow warriors help.

Thanks!

If you truly want to become a successful internet marketer, I would suggest to first line the basics of marketing and how it's done online.

Building websites, doing SEO, link building etc would be completely worthless if you don't properly understand how to attract & keep your visitors. And that theme is based on providing tremendous value upfront.

You won't have to depend on google or any other engines for your traffic if you are offering massive value. People will naturally refer you to other people and you won't ever run out of business.

Just take it one step at a time man.

    1. The first step is to pick a profitable niche that has a problem you can solve.

    2. Create quality content that leads visitors to a solution.

    3. Build traffic passively through SEO or through other methods

    4. Monetize your traffic.

    ---------------------------------------------------

It sounds like you may need help with step 3. But you can definitely complete steps 1 and 2.

DO what you can do yourself. And then either learn how to build traffic yourself or outsource it to someone else.

Thanks for the advice, guys! Greatly appreciate!

The niche I going into is about blogging. So I did keyword research on google keyword tool. calculated the competition ratio. I bought the keyword, but with dashes in-between, as my domain. I have a product which is related to blogging.

I found an article writing service from other forum. Consider cheap and many positive reviews. Planning to order 20 - 30 articles. Will be submitting the articles myself. I have AMR to help me submit articles to many directories.

I want my home page to show either sale page or opt in page. I still thinking of that. and follow by /blog to post articles.

I think that's all for now what I can do like @co2 mentioned step 1 and 2. After my site starts getting traffic and ranking, I would then go on with other methods to get more leads or sales.

and @ryanman, how to really attract and keep vistors?

It's pretty hard to attract and keep visitors unless you provide real high quality that they can't get elsewhere. It's much easier ranking in Google and getting a constant stream of traffic.

Hi Arch. You need to get your site up, be very aware of your keywords, organise your content either through yourself or outsource the work, research what plugins can help your site, set up an opt-in page with a free offer to start input for your 'list', then organise articles for submission (there are some good companies that write and submit for you at a reasonable price), get an article for a press release and submitted (there are some top warriors here for that), then organise backlinks - this should start you off and good luck.

Try not to concern yourself too much with that, many Warriors are far less successful than they like everyone else to believe.

    1. Find a blog in your niche that has a high traffic, and be their guest blogger. Why blogs? Because they already have stable readership and followers and their loyal readers will often coming back to checking in the latest post update.

    2. Buy solo ads or ezine ads.

    3. Forum posting - why difficult?

    4. Links building? - Start from Fiverr

In my opinion you should go with an opt-in at first. With a mailing list you can direct your traffic almost anywhere you would like. It has a much higher earning potential than a one time sale from a sale page. Its helpful to entice people with something free that also is very valuable and useful to them.

Learn the fundamentals of Internet Marketing right now, while you are just getting started. This is the step most newbies try to skip, they want to make money immediately. It doesn't work that way.

If you want to make huge amounts of money internet marketing, you will have to do like the experts -- Learn the Basics.

No IM expert makes vast amounts of money online without utilizing the fundamentals.

This is actually the 'big secret' to making money. Most overlook it because it is so obvious. The experts keep selling you useless systems, by utilizing the fundamentals, hoping you won't notice that's how they sell you.

You can learn the fundamentals now or you'll have to learn them later, point is, if you plan to make money in IM you will have to learn them.

Well, you've just posted in this forum so not so difficult

Seriously though, it just comes down to a few simple steps

    - Drive traffic to a squeeze page
    - Build a list
    - Monetise the subscribers

Now obviously there is a lot more to it such as how to drive traffic (well, there are lots of ways to do that), how to get people to sign up on your capture page in a high enough percentage, what offer to put in front of them, what upsells and downsells and cross sells and follow ups on email marketing you are going to use.

But keep testing these elements and you'll hit the right formula soon enough.

I actually wrote a long blog post covering a load of this stuff yesterday which you can check out here:

How I built a 10,000 subscriber list in 6 months

    Hope that helps

I agree about taking it slow at first, by that I mean starting on one subject, learning it, than moving on to something else. Don't just try to jump in and learn everything at once, you will become overwhelmed.

Wow, so great to get advices from you guys. Thanks a lot! Really learnt something from you guys.

What I will follow is to go with an opt in rather than a sale page. I know the importance of having subscribers. To convert them into buyers/customers, I think I got to try it out on my own.

So now I'm listing out keywords, do research on them, and later order my articles. Starting with article marketing first. Get solid traffic. Yay!

Woot.. wish me luck will be updating my progress here too

    any more advice/comment, I'm welcome

Okay, I'm back here sharing my results.

Well, Squeeze page created. Had about 10 articles submitted and approved at Ezinearticles.com. Seeing few traffics coming in. Only got 2 leads captured. Sigh..

Frankly speaking, I have been busy working on my work, OT almost everyday and only to do IM on a part-tme basis. Not doing enough to get more traffic and leads. I'm thinking of a "short-cut" way to get traffic to my page which is to pay for a SEO service. It might be worth to pay to build backlinks and not wasting my time to build my own backlinks.

and Yah, products I'll be promoting will be IM related and that are what I know. I am not sure how to start doing on non-IM stuff. Anyone advice?

hmm.. yah, that's all for now. I will continue on what I am doing now.

    Hey Champ,

SEO and article marketing is a pretty slow way to build a list these days.

Please don't take this as criticism, but don't expect amazing results if you just continue what you are doing.

IMHO, Solo Ads, or even a FREE WSO can really take you to the next level quite quickly.

Also, being you are promoting IM stuff.. put some links to your site in your signature, or even pay for a Graphics Signature.

I cover some good alternatives in my free wso.

If SEO a slow way to build a list, then what is the fast way?

Is more like a how many backlinks you have, right? the more backlinks, the more traffic.. isn't it?

The best advice I can give you is never, ever, ever quit.

I have a picture on my desk of a water pump to remind me that the moment you stop pumping (no matter how successful you are) the water stops coming out.

And to begin with you need to pump like crazy without getting ANY water out!

That summed it all...short and sweet!

Stick to one game plan with a timeline to complete the tasks on your list. You need to keep an eye on results but stop looking for results immediately after each task - it takes time......all the best!

The above suggestions are pretty much everything that you need to do. I just want to add that in everything that you do, add value and make it natural. This way, not only are you not going to get flagged or penalized by Google (if you depend on organic traffic) but you also make sure that your visitors will come back. Adding value is most essential and you have to keep working at it using different methods that you are comfortable with. Good luck!

I think you should clear your thoughts, take a step back and evaluate your strengths/weaknesses. Look at what you've done, what worked, what didn't. Then come back with your game plan and win it. I'd say good luck but I think you have everything you need to succeed already. Just don't give up, ever.

    Hi guys,

Here's my update till now. Sadly to say that I have only have 3 leads. I am not sure what went wrong or is it I didn't do enough.

I am not giving up yet. However the current website or squeeze page, I would like to give it up as I not sure what can I do next for it.

Even if I want to sell it away, I don't think I am able to as there's not much traffic.

    Hmm...

I hope the above helps you.
