Has anyone used sponsoredtweets to promote their products? I see lots of celebrities on there and I wonder if it's a viable method to promote.

Do you mean IZEAs sponsored tweets? If so quite easy to make money if you've got enough followers.

Im using MyLikes which i have found to be better than sponsored tweets by Izea. Izeas platform is much more expensive and subsequently the CPC is much higher. MyLikes has an easy platform to use and no waiting for someone to approve your campaign unlike Izea who is still reviewing one of my campaigns now. BTW... I have paid $112 for 540 clicks right now with mylikes and have converted over 68 people to new members to my website. Hope that helps. Thanks

Also, how many categories did you select for your ad on Mylikes?

      Thanks!
      Hey Dominique,
I chose about half of the categories on mylikes in my targeting paramaters as im looking only for people who shop online. My website is a unique shopping platform. The page people land on is our consumer landing page with a video on how the platform works and a quick sign up form. Im not trying to sell anything to them by bringing them to the site. Im simply doing a pre-launch sign up so we can build our list of shoppers for when we go out and market to merchants to use our platform. I will include more recent results below of our campaign to date.

I am now using Izeas tweet platform and was wrong about the costs on their system, i am able to get people to tweet for as little as .18 cents which is nice as im finding that people with smaller amounts of followers actually have a higher click rate than those with over 50,000 followers. Im thinking that these people are more closely tied to the people they are following and thus take what they have to say more seriously. The Click Through rate on smaller publishers was 18% higher and much much cheaper than those with more followers.

      My Campaign Stats:
      Started 2/21/12 at 10:45 P.M
Members signed up: 138 and still counting
      Unique Visitors: 1763
      Pageviews: 3709
      Amount spent on MyLikes: $153
      Amount spent on Izea: $45

I hope this helps. Good luck with your campaign!

If you want to see the video i am using for our campaign its on Youtube but the traffic is watching it on our website which is promoted in the video. Thanks

I am curious about the types of products that work on these 2 platforms..Izea and MyLikes. Is the traffic general, run of the mill traffic? Or can we target the traffic?

        Thanks

You can target the traffic but only in the most general sense of the word "Target"... they offer different categories but generally its hard to find a twitter account that only has one type of demographic. I wouldent use if you have a very niche product or something where targeting is very important. My site is very general so i dont have to target as much as say a "Make money at home" site would. Hope that helps!

Thomarv29 this is excellent. The site is ingenious as well. Is this your site or a campaign launch? You should be able to drive some serious traffic and conversions with this!

          Hey Derrick,
Thanks for the kind words, yes its a site that we are in the process of finishing up, i created the concept for it about 3 weeks ago and have already raised over 700K in angel capital to launch it. My goal is to build our consumer database up to 20K to 30K then use those numbers to go after merchants who want to sell to our customers. The marketing we are doing so far supports the fact that we have a strong value ad for consumers and that they will sign up for the site using our pre-launch strategy. The real site should be done around March 15th and will be very robust with lots of cool features for both consumers and merchants. Thanks for the feedback!

Have to say that's pretty impressive to raise that much money that fast - sounds like you are going to have a winner there. Good Luck!

              Hey Bruce,
Thanks, we have a lot of experience in sites like this, we did another one called tradze that is taking off equally as fast, it took us two years to raise 850K but the site build took quite a while as its a massive platform. Ill keep everyone updated as the site moves along from stage to stage. thanks for the feedback!

            Robert,

I perceived as much. This rocks.

I see you're going to use the power of numbers as an allure for merchants.

Have you done any testing yet of merchant acceptance of the fee for offer? What are the results?

            Derrick

              Hey Derrick,
We havent done any testing yet, but we have a full page ad paid for in onlineretailer magazine and will supplement that with their on-site advertising which should attract a ton of the top merchants online. The other strategies we will use are LinkedIn ads, YouTube in-stream ads geared to online merchants, PPC, and SEO along with some merchant scrappers for amazon, ebay and shopzilla. We are looking for other methods of course so if you can think of any let me know. Once again thanks for the support and feedback.
