What to offer opt in's in IM niche?

Hi all - I am getting ready to try my hand at list building. For my first list I would like to get an opt in list going for my IM blog Real Internet Power (see my signature).

With that in mind, I know every opt in I have EVER filled came with some kind of a bonus or report - and that is what I would like to provide my visitors.

Thing is, I want to provide my opt ins with a really *good* report - but I don't know that I am particularly qualified to write one yet. So, I think I am going to look for a PLR report or something similar.

What does everyone here recommend? How should I find a great, legal reward for my email list opt ins?

Well, think of it this way: if you were them - what would you want? If you came to your own website, not as the owner, what would make you want to opt-in? What would, once reading it, make you go, "wow... I trust this guy now because that information was top notch!"?

I can say that when I started into internet marketing I was first interested in Adsense so I signed up for some opt ins that offered various types of "adsense blueprint". Then I realized that building sites is the easy part - ranking them is the hard part, so I opted in for some lists that offered backlink strategies. Now as a more advanced marketer, I am signing up for lists that offer list building guides :]

So I imagine the audience that I would cater to - beginning marketers - would be interested in adsense sites and specifically, how to get them ranked.

But still, I am not real comfortable making my own guide yet so I am wondering if there is quality PLR out there or what other things I can do?

I mean, I guess I could pen my own report but as someone making only low 4 figures a month from IM, I have certain ethical issues in unleashing my only partially formed IM knowledge upon the world :p

Nothing unethical about that! Everyone has something that they are great at. Obviously you are doing something right, because you are making money, which is more than a lot of us can say! Simple packaging your unique expertise for what it is is totally fine, in my opinion.

I find it useful to never assume the things I know are common sense. Write a list covering all of the things that you have done on the internet that you did not know how to do when you first began. Also write a list of things you have been meaning to learn and then learn them. You now have a wealth of knowledge that 90% of the population doesn't know. With this you can create an ebook to give away for free that has alot of value for people who are just beginning in the world of IM. The odds are if you didnt know something in the past there are still many people left in the dark. Reach out and help them!

How about access to a free video after they opt in where you talk about what they can expect from your blog or one really good tip on what it is that you promote.

It only takes a few minutes to make and you can edit it if you like to have it under 5 min. You also want to capture their curiosity about you and your blog with that video all the while giving out some good value that you could probably charge for.

First, Identify what your visitors are going to be coming to your site for in the first place. Then, create some type of free product that compliments the interests of your visitors. If you are driving traffic to your site thats about IM, then offer some type of good that compliments IM. If it is more specific, like IM and PPC, offer a product that compliments that. I would recommend a video series. Record 3 or 4 videos and drip them to your opt-ins. This will help them get you in their head of the course of several days. while at the same time establishing your expert status regarding the topic (very important). Makes for better conversions and longer lasting customers when you have established a personal relationship with your list, and its not that hard! Hope that helps, bitriot! Good Luck

What I'll do is find out what your ideal customer's problems are related to your market/niche. Pick one specific problem. Be as narrow as possible (for example, the most effective linkbuilding strategy). Try to solve that particular problem in your free report. It doesn't have to be long, sometimes a 10-30 page report will do.

If you're not comfortable with writing a report now, try writing a series of 500-700 word blog posts relating to that problem. Then you can combine the posts and turn it into a report.

How about writing an autoresponder series? These are gold and hard to say no to.

I intend to write an autoresponder series - though not selling nearly as hard as pretty much everyone says to do, I hate the buy or die mentality - but that is once people have opted in. To get the opt ins I still need a bonus :]

There are lots of good PLR materials available on the net, especailly you can see some good stuff on wso. But please try to rebrand it, change the graphics and change the content little bit to give your own personality to it so that it will have uniqueness.

As I tried many materials to attract subscribers to my offer (from ebooks to videos) WP plugins, softwares and training videos working best for me. All the best.
