Getting Odd Orders on Fiverr. Any Ideas?

I offer some basic seo gigs on fiverr that I can fill within a resonable amount of time. Its going fine as an extra income, but as of yesterday I started recieving odd orders.

I dont want to give out the customers keywords or urls, so I'm going to supply all the information I can but I'm going to just make up the details.
.....
The customer orders 7 of one of my link building gigs yesterday and 8 more today, which is great but his urls and keywords dont make any since to me. He gives me a different url per order, and the same keyword for each url, but here's the catch. Everyone of these sites are very high pr, highend sites that big companies own. These are not blogs or niche sites that the everyday Im'er might own.

None of these sites have anything to do with his keywords and dont contain any links that would point to another site. They only thing that that any of these sites have in common are they all contain 1 word in their url that has 1 word of his key phrase.

Now that may not make since, so I'm going to elaborate. The keywords and urls are purely made up for this example:

So customer decides he wants me to use the keyword, Dale Earnhardt. He creates and spins a bunch of articles that have to do with Dale Earnhardt. He then orders 7 orders from me yesterday and 8 more today. He searches for urls that contain the word dale or earnhardt, and they dont have to have anything to do with Dale Earnhardt. He submits his order to me and has me build links to each of these sites, with the keyword, Dale Earnhardt. Example: clydesdale(dot)com

.....

His real keyword is a real name and has about 9,500 global searches a month, but I cant figure out why he is building links to these sites that he cant possibly own.

Anyway I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas.

Thanks

Maybe your customer is doing an experiment to see the effect of a backlink blast without risking his own sites. However, since the sites that you're saying he wants to link to are authority sites, I don't see the point, especially if his own sites are or would be less popular/authoritative in terms of traffic and rankings. This would result in an apples-to-oranges comparison.

You could just ask the guy if he owns the sites, and, if not, then ask him why he wants to build links to sites that he doesn't own.

Seeing how Google is punishing sites for engaging in questionable linking practices (and I'm not saying your linking strategy is questionable), this person might be trying to remove the ranking of these sites with a 3rd party SEO spanking. Could even be the work of a disgruntled employee or a competitor..!

Whether he's successful at this or not, could be up to you.

I do understand this. It will be better if you proceed and build links for a couple of orders and see if he accepts the order. If he accepts, that means he is willing to spend money and is not playing prank.
If he is not acceptiong the orders, dont complete other orders and shoot a mail at fiverr support!!

I've definitely thought of some of the same things you guys have said. I did ask the customer, without being rude, why he was using the same keyword to link to all these sites, but he hasnt responded yet. Perhaps he will answer tomorrow.

I've even thought it could be a competitor thats going to leave a bunch of bad feedback, but as of now there is no way to tell. Since all the orders are multiple orders made at once, and they are all express, I have to fill them quickly. So I cant wait to see what he does before I fill the rest.

I have lots of repeat customers, which is fine, but if he orders more tomorrow and i dont get an answer to my question, I think I'll contact fiverr.

Can you post some of the URL's?

I'd probably be able to tell you what this guy is up to.

As of right now, no I wouldn't post them. I would but so far the client hasn't done anything wrong and out of respect I dont want to post them. That may change though of course.

However the example above is very close to the real deal.

    Hey Lee

I would suggest to stick to this customer and work with him long
He actually knows what he is doing

he is creating a link wheel and blasting his KW in all kind of related as well non related sites

what happens actually is when you search with his name or the name he is using if you are not able to find him in the niche sites then at least you would land to him in some other non relevant site

Though not a much effective method but works sometime

so stick to him and do what he wants you to, and in turn enjoy the popularity of your gig

    Cheers

I would also be interested to see some of the URLs.

Another option might be that the customer expects you to create backlinks from the mentioned urls to his site? I mean, he might misunderstand the direction of the backlink?

Anyway I hope you'll post the outcome here, if you hear again from your customer.

nope not at all. the customer keeps making orders for the exact same thing. It makes zero since. He finally made a more normal order recently for about 6 gigs I think it was. Otherwise he keeps buying my services here and there.

There is 1 explanation for this scenario, I checked your gigs and they seem to builds alot of backlinks

The customer wants to make an experiment on big sites / his sites, from my understanding he orders the same gigs for his domains / other non related domains, so basically u r customer wants to see if his site gets penalized and compare it to the big shot sites to see if they will get penalized , also the customer wants to know if the sites will rank for a keyword even if its not mentioned anywhere on the site, just anchor text incoming links
