I am a doctor and had gotten my website for my private practice to #11 in google for dallas psychiatrist.

I checked yesterday- and it is basically nowhere to be found!

What happened? Why did I lose my rank and how can I get it back?

My website is Dr. Sarita Uhr Dallas Psychiatrist

Please tell me how to get it back. (By the way- I am not looking to hire anyone for SEO- just need helpful advice that I can carry out)

I really appreciate your help with any pointers to get my website back on the first page.

Thanks!!!

Free SEO advice? You must be crazy!

Sorry, impossible to resist . . . you must have been caught in a bit of a Google bounce, you are showing up as 12 or 13 (depending on browser) for Dallas Psychiatrist.

When checking your SERP, make sure you are not logged in; consider adding a DO NOT TRACK plugin to your browser as well.

It wouldn't hurt if you started to build many backlinks to your site. Also cover all the things that might help any site get the PR up some. Have you claimed your google places listing?

      Dr. Uhr,

I found your google places page and you need to optimize it. You have no images or videos which needs to be improved upon.

Also I see you've done a ton of articles on Ezine, my opinion is that those articles should firstly be content on "your" site.

After looking deeper into your site it appears you spent more time on creating content on other sites and not your primary business site. Just saying.

Google "Delete stored cookies" for the browser you use, and then make sure you aren't logged into any Google product.

First of all, I'm surprised you ever ranked in the first place.

Your site is a poorly optimized PR 0 with very few backlinks.

I could go on all day long about what's wrong with this site. If you want to chat about it, hit me up in PM.

Did you do the SEO yourself, or did you hire someone to do it for you?

Randall- I did the SEO myself. I am not a newbie and am FAR FAR FAR from being a computer geek- but I can follow directions well.

Let me give you a perspective on this...

My wife is also a psychiatrist. I am making websites and publishing infoproducts.

      We have an agreement:
      1. I don't treat her patients because I don't have the training, knowledge and experience for it.
      2. She doesn't make websites for my clients because she doesn't have the training, knowledge and experience for it.

Just keep your site alive. Keep adding content and backlinks in a natural way. Network with other people in the same niche and exchange links. Create social profiles (Facebook, Twitter) and let your visitors interact with you and talk about you.

It seems that you are writing articles. Why don't you publish new articles on your site? Instead of keeping EzineArticles fresh, you should keep your site fresh at first.

I would start with changing your sig file here at WF. You have the anchor text:

    drsaritauhr.com

    Change it to:

    dallas psychiatrist

As a psychiatrist, your website says a lot. Honestly, when I look at it I feel like I'm back in 1998.

Wordpress has some great themes, plug ins. It may cost you a little to hire someone but it would be worth it IMO.
