Infraction - what to do when this has been reported against you falsely

I posted a reply on someones thread and another person yellow carded (infraction) me. The accusation was that I had insulted the thread poster which is not the case as the post was about changing domain names and all I posted was advice on how to be careful of changing the name(domain name) as it will affect the ranking.

That was seen as an insult. I have asked the person who imposed the infraction to explain why but no success as yet.

How do you get this reversed. I agree with the system of infraction but then it should be applied fairly.

Would like to hear your comments.

It's kind of stupid how people get their feelings hurt over posts and want to issue an infraction. Just got to your profile, click on infractions and reverse it. Explain your case, but make sure you don't give them infractions back out of spite and revenge, that makes Paul Myers upset.

No, Paul doesn't usually look into that - come on. He doesn't have enugh to do?

I reversed it - it's not a biggie and doesn't hurt you. Usually given by someone who either doesn't understand the system or know he really doesn't have a point. In this case - new member with 0 posts. Infractions expire in 10 days or so anyway.

Please do not 'release balloons' for celebrations. The balloons and trailing ribbons entangle birds and kill wildlife and livestock that think the balloons are food.

          Colin,

That was reversed before I looked at it. Kay fixed it for you.

That was one of the dumbest excuses for giving someone an infraction that I've ever seen. And that's going some.

Mostly, I recommend just reversing them, considering whether the person might have a point, and adjusting if needed. If they're just idiots, ignore it.

Nameless has an excellent point, and it doesn't just apply to me. None of the mods want to waste our time with stupid infraction duels. "You gave me an infraction? I can do that, too! Nyah nyah." Next it turns into PM flame fests and public posting of the snarky remarks, and pretty soon we're tempted to (and sometimes will) ban one or both parties for a while.

The mods don't give infractions much attention otherwise. They're supposed to be member-to-member warnings that you might be crossing a line. Not some sort of punishment for disagreeing with another person.

We do see them, though, and if they start looking like duels, we occasionally slap someone on the wrist for it.

The best thing about Warrior Forum appear to me is that Infractions are reviewed. On the other hand Digital Point never cared to look into those people who out of jealousy gave infractions on their competitors. Cheers to WF
