Newbie question: can you post a service in the WSO forum?

Sorry if this is a stupid beginner's question...I've tried to find a clear answer by browsing the forum and reading rules, but I'm still not totally clear on the rules for this...

Can you post a WSO for a service you provide? Or does it have to be a product...?

    Yes you can post service as a WSO if you browse wso section you will find many people doing it

    Well after reviewing the wso rules:

    It doesn't say anything against posting services.

    However I don't think it's a good idea. Your thread will be bumped off the first page very quickly (your 'warrior for hire' post will last longer). To add to that, people in the WSO section aren't looking for services (otherwise they'd have gone to the warriors for hire section).

    Just my 2 cents.

      I don't know what gives you that idea, Simon, but I think it's mistaken: there are huge numbers of people looking for services in the WSO section. It's what I'm looking for almost every time I go in there, and I'm far from alone in that - the traffic's enormous.

    Yes, "Warriors For Hire" post will stay visible for much longer than a WSO, but the numbers viewing it will be a fraction of the wso forum. So, I guess you have to pick your poison, as it were.

    Yes, you can post a service in the WSO section. There are others doing it successfully.

    The rules include this little tip that might help: "Find a WSO that looks like it went well and use that as a model for yours."

    You can post a service as a WSO, as long as you are not offering it for the same price elsewhere (it has to be cheapest here if you do sell the service in other places). But as others have mentioned, your thread will only last around 6 hours in the first page so it's better to use the Warrior for Hire section, where it will remain in the first page for longer.

      People keep saying this but you need to remember it is all relative. Yes, your offer will be viewable for longer on the Warrior for Hire section but there are a LOT less people viewing that section.

      Would you rather:

      1. Have your offer on the 1st page of the Warrior for Hire section for 24 hours and have it seen by 1,200 people...

      2. Have your offer on the 1st page of the WSO section for 7-8 hours and have it seen by 4,500 people...

      They are just rough numbers but my point is, the timing means absolutely nothing. All that matters is eyeballs and you are going to get a lot more eyeballs on your offer in the WSO section... they just occur much faster.

      By all means list your offers in the Warrior for Hire section because it means less competition for all us WSO sellers. There is a reason why WSO's get knocked off the page so quickly... because there are so many WSO sellers wanting to take advantage of that huge audience, a lot of them sitting there with their wallet in their hand.

        Where are you getting your stats from? I don't always go in the warriors for hire section. I usually do a forum search or google search, and find offers in both places - but most of them that I buy are usually in the WSO section.

        Here is what you can do. Put an ad in the Services section, and if all is slow, run a WSO (special offer) for a limited reduced price or special package. See which one gives you best results.

    Yes, you can post a WSO for a service you provide. What I would recommend is that you do a split test between the WSO section and the Warriors For Hire section and see which of these sections produces the highest ROI for your service. Good luck!

    Yes, you can but you have to make sure people are attracted to your post. People will see it only shortly and have to buy the product at one glance, as they won't get another.

      Someone is selling an SEO service in the WSO - and he seems to have consistent business and a lot of it.

      Not everyone finds their way to the services area of this forum. I would venture to believe many go straight down to the WSO and never find their way out. lol

      Yes but she didn't say what that service is. There are plenty of service providers using the WSO section it just depends what your offer is. If it's something that you can only handle a very limited number of at any one time then yes, you might want to use the Warrior for Hire section. However a lot of times service providers just want to get a whole bunch of orders, spend the week completing the orders, then post their job again... and repeat. It's easier than having to go and find customers every day of the week.

    You can surely post a WSO for services as well as products.
    I have seen coaching WSOs on this forum.

    I see this as services rather than products.

    Yep you're right, depends what kind of service it is. Automated (or semi-automated) tasks linkbuilding shouldn't be too hard to fulfill so WSO's are fine I guess, but I'd use Warriors For Hire for something like ebook writing (although I have seen WSO's for that too).

    I list my services when I have one in Warriors for Hire. That section also gets a lot of traffic and you stay on the front page longer and it's half the price to list it.

      You'll always find a nice selection of services in the WSO section, in addition to products. Many services that are successful keep getting bumped again and again. So you can definitely post services there and if you have a good one, you can probably turn it into a lucrative small business just with WSO customers, as long as you never advertise it for less anywhere else (you have to offer your best price if you're posting in the WSO section).

    I just took a look at the WSO section.

    Quite a few services and plenty of views.

    I admit I was wrong (not one to dig my heels in unnecessarily).

    Have to say though, I never thought of visiting the WSO section for services after the warrior for hire section was created.

    Guess you learn something new every day.

    If I'm ever looking specifically for a service I got right to the "Warriors-for-Hire" so I definitely think you'd have better luck over there.

    First of all, thank you to everyone for helping me better understand the advantages and disadvantages of posting a service as a WSO vs. Warrior for Hire.

    Sorry I didn't include more details about the service, I should have figured that makes a big difference. I'm a writer, so I would be offering article writing, blog post writing, press releases and other web content. Rewriting PLR uniquely as well.

    Based on the comments in this thread so far, it seems like the better option for that particular type of service may be the Warrior for Hire section instead of WSO.
