What is a good month-on-month % growth for a wesbite?

Excluding this month, since it's shorter. Would you be happy with 10-15% growth, like I usually get, 25% like sometimes? Of course it can be different if you're looking at growth of traffic, of money, of time spent on site, but you can define it how you like.

I think that's great growth, assuming you don't have to spend a lot of time to maintain it.

It all depends on consistency and Consistency is directly proportional to the amount of work we do in order to increase the traffic, organically of course.

I usually look around for a 5-10% growth every month. But, having a network of sites, I can't pull in that kind of growth every month. At times it falls well below 3% and that's when I go for rigorous link building for that particular site. I also think of the work around by inviting fellow bloggers to guest post on blog.

Well, it all boils down to the number of posts, number of valid and strong backlinks(read .edu, .gov comment links and wikis). Growth will be slow and steady.

Are these for fairly well established sites? Mine are newish so it doesn't take much to get 25% - going from 11th to 10th in the SERPs for one keyword is usually enough to do it.

Yes Viktor, they are well established sites. They rank well for most of the keywords around the niche. It all boils down to using LSI, well 'using' is the wrong word here. I should have said 'going with flow' while writing articles will increase the scope of ranking well.

And also, do not forget about guest posts on the same niche good-PR domains. They do wonders with regards to traffic and involving more people.

A website's growth is impacted by a lot factors. In particular, it really depends on the type of site your creating. Unless you are creating an authority site that can build a relativley limitless supply of visitors, at some point you will reach critical mas. Which means that you will have already achieved optimal position in the search engines for the types of keywords that best fit your niche. When that happens, it's more about maintaining and building new projects.
