First page on Google.com. Second on Google.nl How can that be. How can I fix this?

After a month of backlinking one of my clients sites, it is on Google's first page on Google.com. However, since my client is dutch it would be nice if it was on Google.nl
The site is ranked on the second page there. How can that be? Also, a video we have up for 3 wks has a great ranking on google.com and nowhere to be found on google.nl Video is ranked on youtube's first page and on google's video first page as well.

Can anyone help me understand why this is and what exactly I can do to help both website and video rank on google 's first in the netherlands?

    Thats perfect...
    Google.com means Google USA and google.nl means local Google of Google netherlands.
    Ur position in SERPS is determined by G-algo...
    Just keep on doing doing SEO and more local SEO if u want it better in NL google.

    Change the location in Webmaster Tools.

    Things that might help also are:
    Having Dutch phone numbers and/or addresses on the page
    Getting backlinks from other Dutch sites or .NL sites

    thank you for your quick response. Google.nl is google netherlands but it's strange that google.com gives a higher ranking to foreign sites. You would think it's the other way around. A have done some article marketing and used flickr for images and videos as well....any other suggestions?

    MMMM U need to start posting in the local article directories and submission directories.

    Create forum profile links from different forums in netherlands.

    Do regular off page but whatever you doing, do it in the local directories of netherlands not worldwide!!

    adress and phonenumbers are on the site. I did use a service for my backlinks, so not sure how to get more dutch backlinks. Thanks for the tip anyway. It gives me something to think about.
    Webmaster tools...will check into that. It;s not my site. Can I alter this anyway?

    problem in the netherlands are: Number of article directories are about 5 and I have used those.
    There aren't many dutch social sites, but i am using facebook, twitter, youtube etc.
    forums i could def. check out.

    Any ideas on international backlinks, so i can find me some dutch backlinks or at least european?
    Also, any thoughts on the video?

    I´m having the exact same problem here. I´m from germany and one of my (german) sites is ranking on the first page in google.com but on the second in google.de...
    For one day it was on the first page of google.de and that quadrupeld my traffic!!! I mean literally!
    I got to get back there. But how?
