What is the biggest obstacle you face to achieving the success you want? Perhaps someone else has already found the solution and can tell you about it

    That's a good question, when I was starting out my biggest obstacle was trying to find a trustworthy source to learn from.

    These days I only listen to people I trust but its hard when you're a newbie and you have no contacts and don't know who to trust, coupled with the fact that the Internet is saturated with false and misleading information coming at you from every direction.

    Biggest obstacles for newbies I think is the fact that they dont have a clue where to start.
    If some one says affiliate marketing, they decide affiliate. If some one shows they are good at SEO, they wanna now learn seo. If some one shows them they are good at facebook marketing, newbies wanna get into facebook marketing.

    But at the end of the day, most of them are not willing to spend money. They want free softwares, free wso's and bush button softwares that will instantly work.
    Let alone WSO'S, most of them dont have money to buy Domains.

    Sad and strange but true!!
    I earned my first dollar online in 3 months not because I am a noob but because I knew what i wanna do [SEO and designing]. I was willing to spend time and money also because I knew I cant start with empty wallent and no knowledge!!
    I read a few books, designed my own websites and started experimenting. Then I learned affiliate marketing as well, I got into fan page designing. So, this way start with something and if you are interested , and move on to other niches if you want!!

    Focus and time.
    I'm trying to work on both this year, but for me those are my biggest two.

    My age. I know this sounds weird, but as a marketing student at USC, I found a lot of enjoyment and satisfaction assisting start up companies with marketing and positioning strategies. The few times where I would have (respectful) disagreements with people, it was normally with older, more seasoned marketers that would always throw the "you'll learn as you get older," thing in my face. As far as achieving the success I wanted, the thing that limited me from reaching goals was lack of resources, or rather a lack of knowledge where to find certain resources. Now, That is no problem. Before, limiting factor.

    Taking the time to write out, and think about my problems, where I want to be, how I am going to get there, and creating a plan.

    Just take the time to write goals, and go for it, keep changing, upping the ante, and stretching yourself further and further, to new challenges, and new successes.

    I would say that my biggest enemy is procrastination. However, I am getting better at getting things done.

    As long as you can just get started on a task, then it becomes rather easy (a lot of the time) to keep going and complete it.

    My biggest obstacle is being easily distracted and lack of planning....all of this is improving though.

    I think many people also have "shiny new object" syndrome and jump from method to method without ever seeing a method through. Thankfully, I don't suffer from this.

    The biggest obstacle is focus, as it's human nature that you attract to shiny object and in this way you are out of track, what you are doing.

    I try to make this not about the money. I try to put barriers up within my business.


    I mean, it's at a stage where I try not to even think about the money. The money, I imagine isn't there. It's just about breaking the boundaries that I've set and the money just somehow appears.

    If someone tell me it's impossible to do something then I'm going to try prove them wrong.

    It's almost as if I am addicted to breaking through these boundaries. If someone was to turn round and say "hey, it's impossible to make money from internet marketing now'. I would keep going, even though there is no money. I just couldn't imagine stopping.

    As a Newbie my biggest stumbling point is fear. Fear of failing I guess. I have however read a few stories on this site about successful people who failed numerous times before they got it right. This gives me hope for my journey.

    Hi Maximus242,

    The biggest obstacle I have faced when I first started IM is information overload. This is one of the main challenge that most of the newbies is facing too.

    However, I have overcome it after a while when I was building my online business. Just need to stay focus and stick with the business model that you want to go into.

    People fear and always are so skeptical of taking action. I think that the biggest obstacle for newbies is they lose the focus and what to make money at overnight; this is why they get scammed many times and probably losing funds and decide to not becoming IM.

    Some of them are not patient about their business, another one is fear of success.
