best advice save your money to start with, read as much as you can on this forum, then upgrade your membership on the forums best $39 you can spend, then once you know what your looking to do then invest time not money.

Just be careful ok, it is very easy for newbies online to fall for the next bright object they see and before you know it your $1000 will be gone, i hear stories all the time of people telling me what a hard time they have had and how much money they have lost.

I'd start off with some greyhat stuff, try searching on here for some free ebooks, content locking is a great way to start off. Don't look at the $1000 as an investment opportunity, look at the $1000 and think it's not enough, that way you'll build on it instead of spending it

Your $1000 should be funneled into getting the basic things you need to launch your IM career. These are basically a domain name and hosting, a good autoresponder company, and payment processor.


I’d say start with affiliate marketing but keep in mind that the real money is made with your own products. Don't let the stiff competition in affiliate marketing scare you away. There are some strategies you can use to effectively find your feet in this.
1. Choose a good product to promote
Do not make the common mistake of selling the popular products everyone else is selling. Do a simple research first to know if the product is in demand in the market. Also, make sure that the product you'll choose is of good quality.
2. Do some pre-selling
Most affiliates conduct pre-selling to qualify the leads they will be referring to the merchant's page. This will increase conversion rates because only interested individuals will see the sales page. One thing you can do here is to buy the product you are promoting, and write an honest review about it.
3. Be capable enough of driving traffic to the merchant's sales page
This is basically the most difficult task you’ll face. In doing this, you should decide first how you will attract traffic towards your affiliate website. You can go for paid advertising or you can spend time creating authority sites that are content rich and with affiliate advertising placed within them. It is good if you can use both strategies.
The nature of the traffic you drive to your affiliate site also matters. You should be able to send highly-targeted traffic, or else, your conversion rates will not be sufficient to cover the cost of advertising.

Good post and you are in the right place to ask these questions. The WF is a good place to site back and learn a few things. This is what I did.

After looking around on the internet for a while and making no progress as to what I was going to do, I bumped into Chris Farrell's site and reluctantly paid the introductory membership fee. He took me step by step on how to build a site and generate traffic to it but most importantly it made me take action. After spending a couple of months as a member of his site I moved on. I learned a tremendous amount during that time and it gave me the tools to decide what I wanted to do. It is very easy to get information overload and not know where to go next. Structure kept me from the information overload that is very common in IM.

My recommendation to you is to find a structured environment to work and learn in where you will not get saturated with to much information and people trying to sell you things that you don't need. For me that place was with Chris Farrell. You will have to pick where or who you will work with and learn from. The Warrior Forum is a great place to learn from and people will give you genuine advise.

If a membership site isn't your thing. Maybe you can find a mentor here in the WF. Be careful though there are some in here that will take advantage of you in a heartbeat. Research potential candidates well before making a decision.

Before you can build a successful online business, there are certain IM skills you will have to have. Learn the fundamentals to internet marketing before you invest in any system or plan.

If you don't know the fundamentals first you will not be able to successfully implement any strategy. The problem most newbies have is they concentrate too much on making money quickly, and not on building a solid foundation for their online empire.

If you take the time(about 7-10days to learn the fundamentals) you will put yourself in a situation where you will be able to take advantage of some awsome WSOs, which can help you make money online. Without the fundamentals you will fall on your face.

You will never know it all, when it comes to internet marketing; however, there are basic essentials you must learn. Learn these things first, don't be like the majority of people who never took the time to learn them, then they wonder why they can't make money online.

You are in a better position than most, you have $1000.00 to get started with. Don't blow it by chasing fools gold.

Until you know the answer to this question, you are not ready to start an online business.

Instead of just having a general concept of "I want to make money online," put your $1000 aside for now and have a look at and research all the different types of methods there are to make money online (cpa, listbuilding, niche marketing, affiliate marketing, product creation, etc etc).
There are so many ways to make money online that until you have a grasp of what the major ones are and what you can see yourself doing and would like to spend time pursuing, you will be distracted by the next shiny object that comes along and promises you financial freedom within x days.
It's extremely important to have tunnel vision because there are so many distractions in the IM world. Once you have an idea of what you want to pursue, I would recommend trying to (as someone already suggested) in this thread get a mentor, someone who is an expert in the field that you are trying to pursue and then follow their lead.

$1000 is a good budget. I would suggest that you start selling physical products from sites like Amazon. They don't pay as much or as fast as clickbank, but it’s easy to capitalize on physical product niches. You can start with creating mini sites cantered around certain physical products. You need to ensure that people do like to buy such products on the Internet. For example, there can be things that people would not want to buy on the Internet. So, you need to be able to make that judgement call.

Keep your $1,000 until you find something you enjoy doing. If you are going to get into internet marketing, it should be something you enjoy and you'll be able to spend your time making money and it won't be that dirty three letter word JOB.

After you decide what you want to do, research and learn every aspect of that business. It will be similar to taking an online course. Read, read, and then read some more.

Start small and then watch your business grow.

If it were me, I'd keep the job and do this part-time until you reach a certain level.

Set goals - realistic goals and make sure you include details on how you will achieve your goals.

4 hour work week is awesome.

Tips for you:
1) Don't quit your job until you're making at least at much at IM for a couple of consistent months.

2) Don't buy into latest fads, trends, themes or softwares. Most of them die off as quickly as they were launched.

3) Choose the most viable business model based on your own research. Read alot online but decide for yourself. Business is usually pretty intuitive, and too many people tend to look for an exact A-Z guide to making money, which doesn't exist. You need to get your feet wet and see whatever works for yourself.

P.S. I was working an unfulfilling job 2 years back and worked on IM 2-3 hours a day. Started seeing consistent income after 7-8 months, took the plunge, quit my job and never looked back. I wish you success!

Lots of good advice on here. I know when I first started the information overload was really hard. Then I started to notice that I was buying books and courses that all seem to be saying the same things, just in a different way. Further I noticed that today many marketers are giving away plenty of basic information to get you started. It's not all located in one place, but if you take time to study blogs and free downloads you can get here, especially in the war room, you will learn a whole lot. Good luck. My first suggestion would be to decide if you want to sell a service or a product. Or do you want to furnish great information on a blog and just collect adsense. So many things to consider.

I advise you to initially start reading in order to learn as much as you can. Basic terminology will help you understand on what you need to spend money o not. It is great that you have a quite high budget. But it would be better to know a little bit more before starting buying tools and everything. By the way, I have read the 4HWW too. Pay attention: testing your muse is not as simple as Time describes in his book. You cannot test anything in 3 days...It is difficult to get traffic in 3 days...and test a product.

I STRONGLY agree with the points made about saving your money.

I've been a full-time internet marketer for 10+ years. Trust me when I say that there are more than enough ways to blow through your money without having anything to show for it.

I also agree that you should spend time reading and learning as much as possible and the WF just happens to be a great source for this.

However, theres a hidden trap waiting for you if you're not aware of it.....
The danger with reading and reading and reading some more is that you run the risk of "information overload".

So...my suggestion is that you determine what it is that you'd be interested in
whether it be::

-Passive Income (Adsense,CPM(Cost Per Mille) ...running banners ads on your site and getting paid per each 1,000 views.

-Information Publishing (ebooks,reports,Kindle,videos etc...)

-Affiliate Marketing (Clickbank,Amazon,CJ.com etc...)

-Service Related (Article Writing, Link Building, Press Releases etc...)

Thats just a few to get you thinking....ultimately decide on ONE....just one.
Then focus your research on developing a skillset around that ONE.

The idea is to Learn & Grow as you Go. Learn & Grow as you Go.

Each of the items listed above is about Monetization (how you plan on earning an income). The next key component is TRAFFIC.

Monetization and Traffic.

Some would say concentrate on traffic first. However, if you think about it...why learn traffic if you don't know how to monetize that traffic.

Just a few finishing quick tips.....if you decide on Passive Income (Adsense....) then study SEO (on-page factors...title tags,description tags,meta tags,H1,Alt Img tags) & (off-page factors....this means backlinks... Articles,PR,directories,social bookmarking,blog commenting(non-spam)...etc...

If you decide on Affiliate Marketing (Clickbank in particular) focus on identifying hot selling information products/services and study List Building.

If you decide on a service (article writing,backlink building etc..) study the WF WSOs, Classifieds, Warrior for Hire sections....also, Digital Point forums is another popular Internet marketing forum.

I just rattled off a few things to get your juices flowing.

The possibilities are all over the place.

Learn ONE....get super good at it and GROW from there.

Definitely some good advice in here. If I might summarize and reiterate some points:

1. DON'T spend any of that money. It's easy to think to yourself "Hey the reason so many newbies fail is because they're under-capitalized. I have some money to invest so I can jumpstart this train ride to gravy town. Forget it. You don't have enough experience or understanding to know the right things to 'invest' in and you'll just end up being confused and $1,000 lighter after a couple months. Why not just be confused and still have your $1,000?

2. Get confident, but stay smart. Change your attitude from "I guess I'm not a bad writer" to something better. People don't become successful by not being bad at something. If you're "not bad" commit to becoming "good" and then get great. The current skills and attitudes you've had in the past got you where you are now. If you want something better, get better skills, attitudes and goals.

3. DON'T quit your job. Seriously. Don't do that until you have replaced your income and put 6 months of living expenses in the bank.

4. READ everything you can get your hands on, but take it all with a grain of salt and a good dose of skepticism. There's a ton of junk out there, most of which is designed to separate you from your $1,000 .. all at about twenty dollars at a time. There is plenty of free information available that will tell you step by step how to do all sorts of basic stuff. Just go look for it.

5. Commit to never give up. This is a marathon for most people, not a sprint. If you try and tackle this at a sprinters pace, you'll be burned out in 8 weeks.

Good luck. There are plenty of resources here to help you succeed. You can do if your approach is smart, you stay focused and disciplined, and you commit to not quit until you succeed.

I have read Tim Ferriss, its a great book. Very inspiring.
I would look into creating multiple income streams where you can bring in recurring income.
Try to build up monhtly or weekly payements.
Some good examples of this are
Membership sites
Adsense sites
Selling hosting or other recurring paying products.
