My blog/product review gets 500 visits a month but no sales!

I did an affiliate product review blog a good few months back. Worked hard to get it to number 2 on google. behind the main seller. Hoping to get more sales. I am sad to report that I havent made a single sale since it has moved there.

Anyway I had a look at visits today and Im surprised to see im getting roughly 500 visitors each month which I think is quite good.EXCEPT im getting no sales and have a google click thru rate of 0.1 %. Should I be getting much more from this blog????
#500 #blog or product #month #review #sales #visits

500 visitors every 5 hrs or so is quite good.

500 visitors every month is not very good.

Without knowing what you are selling. What keyword you are #2 in Google for. And a whole load of other relevant pieces of information. It is impossible to give you any advice.

But for most niches, 500 visitors a month is nowhere near enough traffic.

I agree with Kierkegaard. 500 views a month is not good at all.

Ok. It is a product review and the keyword is the product Im also ranked first when people type in product+review. I read niche marketing on crack and andrew hansen said he was able to make lots of sales from even smaller traffic than me because it was all very targeted.

    Maybe what you read:

    (a) Doesn't work
    (b) Doesn't work the way you're currently doing it
    (c) Doesn't work for your niche

You might have worked hard to get number 2 on Google, but did you work hard to find out what your visitors actually want?

0.01 suggests to me you optimised for SEO and not your audiences needs (whatever they might be).

Try changing your meta description, titles, copy etc and TEST TEST TEST!

Research of a keyword is very important, if people are not looking for the keyword in the first place, it's irrelivent if your at #2 on the first page.
No people searching for the keyword = No traffic.
    Good luck, hope this helps

500 hits a month doesn't say much in terms of what type of quality traffic you are getting.

Are all 500 coming from the that product +review you are targeting? If you have reached 2nd spot on google only after a couple of months it could mean that the keyword wasn't very competitive/profitable in the first place as well.

Are people actually clicking on the links and going to the product site?

Are people actually buying the products on the affiliate sites? I promote lots of products and on some sites only 2 out 10 products make sales because they are just so much better then the rest. Just some stuff for you to think about I guess

500 visitors per month could be good = quite only so don't be happy with it. See try to market it, page 2 results are less considered to go with especially when it comes to buy something. You need targeted visitors which I don't think you are getting as in search only few percent of it is used for buying purpose and rest for information/knowledge. See you need to market your links on marketplaces instead of building links for SERP ranking.

If you get 500 people browsing a month and not one sale that is not a good conversion rate! I would imagine if you cant even do a 0.2% conversion there is something wrong somewhere. Why don't you post your website address and you might actually get some useful feedback. What are you being an affiliate for as well because if you are trying to push a rubbish make money ebook it is far more difficult to convert than an Amazon product.

Mate this may be due to no gravity of the product.... What I mean by that is that may be people are not interested in buying it... And the other fact is that you are below the original owner of the product....

So its a matter of fact that if I have direct access to Blackberry Corporation I would prefer to buy from there despite of buying from their retailers....

Many other things needed to be considered... If product is worthy then you can try running a PPC for 2-3 days to just have an idea of results.....

Its an expensive way no doubt but some times money saves you alot of trouble and time

    All the best.....

So you are getting 16 visits to your site per day.

In other words: You don't get any traffic at all (basically)..not even enough to make a statistic about your conversions. I can see where you are coming from, when i was "new" i would've probably also thought that 500 per month is awesome and wondered where the sales are.

But now i am older and wiser and learned about CTR and conversion rates etc...etc....seeing that you are on #2 and get only 16/day on your site...you might want to try something else because to be honest you will never make anything from such low traffic.

I think people need to see this site to give you a review.

Basically, I'm wondering what you are using to give you these stats.

If you are using the counter provided by your hosting account then it's inaccurate. This means bots are visiting your site.

    That's just one thought.
