Is there any way to check domain name availability secreatly

It have happened with me many times.When I find a domain name available it gets registered after some time.
Do u guys know any trick or method to secretly check domain name availability.

    You're talking about the domain registrars snapping up nice sounding domain names that you search for?

    My hunch is domain registrars troll through peoples searches looking for good sounding domain names. Certainly they take the cream of the crop with expired domains.

    Well the best solution is to register it as soon as you find one you like. Other than that, you could become a domain registrar yourself - No idea what that entails - probably not cheap.

    I am sure no matter what process you use to search for domains somewhere a record of the search would be kept.
