I have been using forums for 3 years. I have just started using the Warrior Forum I think this Forum has different rules.

I normally put tips as when other people make posts I post my experience with a certain strategy they are talking about.

Over the weekend I got a 24hr ban on this forum not sure why. If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it =)

    Taking a wild guess here...

Without the benefit of ever seeing your posts what comes to mind is that your posts may boarder on the 'self-promotional'.

Again, that's just a guess based on your above comments.

It's a fine line and one that's easy to cross.

And if you have been putting links in your posts that lead to webpages you control that would also be a major contributor to defining your posts as SP.

    Don't know if that helps...

If it was felt that you'd posted in a way which drew attention to your sig-file, that might explain it, I think.

I think I'm right in saying that a 24-hour ban is regarded as comparatively minor, and more or less a way of saying "don't do it again". I see that it would help to know what the "it" was, but people are often left to work that out.

But if you had posted on your sig-file subject, that could have been it, I think, because that can render promotional a post which otherwise wouldn't have been, can't it?

        That's not true is it.
Just a quick look at the posts started by you and I came across one
that began with links off forum which would be seen as self promotion.
Fortunately they weren't on the main forum so were probably missed by the mods or you might have had an even longer ban.

Bill's right - it's really hard to say. Read through the stickies (rules) and you might recognize something you did. Otherwise, it could have been comments started to become hostile. The mods are not paid and don't always have time to delete specific posts and will just delete the whole thread when things start to get out of hand. If you were not viewing when those comments started to be made, it can leave you confused.

Just make sure you post as much according to rules as possible, and when something gets deleted, take it with a grain of salt. We've all had posts deleted and have learned it's just best to ignore it when it happens. But for them to ban you, you definitely broke a rule - so read up and just keep going.

Contact the MODS and ask them what the ban was for, in case you do the same thing again, you need to know what is your accused of.

    Good luck

Bad advice. We are not going to get into debates with everyone who thinks their interpretation of the rules supercedes the long history behind them. Answering those questions leads to debates more often than not, and there isn't enough time in the day for it.
