Can we use .biz for affiliate marketing

Can we use .biz for affiliate marketing.

I read policies of .biz

to exchange goods, services, or property of any kind;
in the ordinary course of trade or business; or
to facilitate (i) the exchange of goods, services, information, or property of any kind, or (ii) the ordinary course of trade or business.
In affiliate marketing we facilitate (i) the exchange of goods
I think affiliates can use it.

Pretty sure .biz is an open TLD meaning that you don't register just with one organization, so I don't imagine it would be a problem. OTOH, not sure how much traffic you'll get with a .biz site. I find most traffic still goes to the original three.

You could, but why would you want to? I wouldn't say they were spammy but they are sort of err... naff.

    Go for a com dude.

Since it is a business, of course you can. That is why it was made .biz - short for business. However, if you can find a domain that's a .com, why not go for it?

What's great about .com extensions is that most of the times when people look for a site they usually type in .com as the extension because it is the most popular one. .com extensions also rank better in search engine sites.

      Best,
      Nick

Yeah I would have to agree - .biz and .info sounds like spam or dodgy products to me..
Go for a .com if you can..

Only reason you should be getting .biz is if .com, .net and .org are already taken for that domain name.

Even so you should strive for a .com extension even if you need to slightly change the domain name.

Agree with the above comments, .biz gets me a bit iffy when visiting a site.

You can use .biz for affiliate marketing,

But the only problem is search engines don't give them that much importance, i would have to go with simon, use different variation of domain name but get .com or .net.

I think when doing affiliate marketing, it's best to consider what search engines like, and they don't like .info/.biz and other TLDs

    cheers

I agree with the other comments. .Biz sites appear to be a bit dodgy to me -- .com, .net and .org are much better options. If you can't snag one of those three, you can always consider a different domain name instead of settling with .biz.

    Look at this this way.

When is the last time YOU bought something from a website, where the domain extension ended in a dot-biz?

I can tell you that I have never, and I mean NEVER, bought anything, or even clicked through to buy something from a dot-biz domain name.

I would be more concerned with your target's audience perception of dot-biz domains before worrying about the technicalities behind what you can and can't do with a dot-biz extension.

Don't buy a .biz if you are looking to build a serious online business. If it's just a simple wordpress kind of site where all the other extensions are taken and you want the keywords you are targeting in your url then that's okay but otherwise stay clear of them and go for .coms or .net and org's are also acceptable depending on the site!
