If I drive traffic to my site... will it convert? (my site)

Here's my site: The Asian Casanova

About: Dating advice, dating, sex, etc. The information is based on my experience as a dating coach.

I'm preparing to do some heavy SEO and MAYBE some paid advertising to drive traffic to my site... but the real question.. is it ready for traffic?

Does it suck? Will my conversions suck?

I know my opt-in is crap (free plugin), so I'm considering getting aweber.

Ultimately I want to make sure that the site is at least going to get some conversions if I spend time and money to drive traffic to it.

The goal is to get an e-mail opt-in and buy through my affiliate links... which I may promote through e-mail chain.

I'd love to get your feedback.

    Not bad, couple of things to consider:

    Collect just their email, no need for first and last name
    Add image credits where credit is due (i.e. a small link back to flickr or whatever under the image)
    I'd get someone to work on the design to make it look more professional
    Add a privacy policy, since you're collecting data
    I'd put the contact and about links somewhere else, as they take up valuable real estate at the top.
    Try adding an optin at the end of each post
    consider re-working the submit button like this

    That's off the top of my head.
    At the end of the day, start driving traffic to this bad boy and tweak as you go.

    Great length of the posts, well-written... I think it could do pretty well. Top banner isn't the best. Start with SEO - wait for paid traffic. Once you've done some testing, then start with paid. Also, don't ask for first and last name in my opinion. Draw more attention to the opt-in box. Offer a real incentive for them to opt-in such as a free e-Book, etc.

      Really? I thought it was good, but thats my personal bias of course lol.

      Good to know... what is it about the banner? Colors? The girl? The headlines?

    Opt-in is ok. Just give them an incentive to submit their email. Something like casonava's dairy will be ok.

      Not only that, but I had NO IDEA you even had an opt in when I visited the site!

      Put a giant @#!$ing arrow next to that thing and make it sparkle and dance.

      Or in the very least make it a different color than your background for God's sake.

    I would make the homepage a straight up squeeze page, offer them a free item, and then lead them to your website where they can read your articles and buy from your affiliate links. Even though your in the dating niche, you can still make money, but i would put more emphasis on generating a lead, so that you can get as many as possible.

      Yeah, its obvious the opt-in sucks. I just wasn't ready to pay for something like aweber when I didn't know if people would care.
