Clickbank is confusing this newbie...

bit of a longshot, but hope someone can help.

I've been working really hard from scratch to set up a site selling a low cost ebook to try and start building a list ( and a later blog). Being a complete novice I've worked hard to understand how these sites are put together, uploaded all my images, selling page, thank you page to my domain. All going ok, registered with clickbank, and hit a problem..

during the test transaction, the payment processes, goes to my thank you page, but when I click the link to download my .zip book, it doesn't do it. I'm using Filezilla, and uploaded everything together, so thats all in place ok.
Strangely, the page it goes to is.http://www.mysite.com/www.mysite.com/product.zip

If I manually remove one of the www.mysite.com so its www.mysite.com/product.zip, it then works, and downloads my ebook.

Retraced my steps, and cannot understand whats going wrong.

I know its a longshot, but any ideas?

this is impossible to say without taking a look at your site/code..but i THINK it's a typo somewhere..maybe you typed in a wrong URL wrong somewhere, on your site or on clickbank. I would double-check there.

It's a bit hard to explain what's probably happened here, though it sounds as though you've made a typo in the link's HTML on your thankyou/download page.

Go into your thankyou/download page's HTML and ensure you've entered the full URL to your download, including the http:// prefix before your domain.

If you don't specify a full and valid URL (e.g., if you just typed "www.yourdomainhere.com/product.zip" instead of "http://www.yourdomainhere.com/product.zip") for your hyperlink, web browsers will take what you've entered and attempt to automatically complete it by prefixing it with your site's root URL. Sometimes this leads to the domain appearing as a duplicate within the link, like in the example you've given, and that, as you've just discovered, won't be valid.

Dire Straits, you were exactly right! Makes me wish I hadn't sat there for 90 minutes this afternoon getting increasingly annoyed after trying what I thought was everything!
Thanks so much, means I can now submit to Clickbank and get, hopefully, a site up and running.
