PDF Converter!?!?! Need Suggestions...

I have PrimoPDF - but when I convert my word document into a PDF it nullifies my affiliate anchor text links and you can't click on them.

Now the links work if I keep them as they are without turning them into achor text, but I'd rather use (for an exmaple)...

Biscuit Bargains (as an anchor text link with my affiliate code) instead of;

http://biscuitbargains.com/affiliate...glylookingcode

But it's not letting me do this...

Anyone know of ANY other FREE PDF converters that will let you KEEP your links as anchor text, and actually work!?

Thanks for any suggestions!

  • yes -- use open office (openoffice.org). It has a built-in pdf conversion button and works great.

    • I second that. I use open office, save as pdf, and have no problems. Best of all it's free.

  • I have used open office and it works. Its no here near as good as the paid products but you can get by using it.

  • I used open office, save as pdf
  • I concur. Open Office is the most cost-effective solution.

Another is a product called "PDF Printer Pro" that works well with almost any Windows-based PC. I have used this product for several years without problems.
  • I use Bull Zip here: FREE PDF Printer

I haven't looked at what it does to links, but I assume they will be fine.

It's free and works with Word. Basically you "print" to PDF. Works great.
  • You could try using PDF Convert, this one works well. You will find it at PDF Converter - Convert to PDF Online Free and it's free.
    Hope this helps....

    • So I was buzzing right along with PDF Converter and after about a half dozen, it only brought up the first 2 pages of my Word Doc. and in the notepad next to it explained that I needed to become a member, of which all options are paid, to continue using it. Ouch! I just tried it 30 minutes later (as there is a waiting time ... not a big deal for me) and instead of "saving" it when it was done I just opened it and it worked fine. I could've done something else wrong, but it works fine ... HAPPY again!!!
  • Hey Steve, very helpful info. THANK YOU!!! After trying Primo PDF & Open Office, of which I had no luck unless I actually exosed the link, I followed your suggestion. It's so easy and the integrity of the anchor text, the margins, footer, etc... all were perfect ... well as perfect as I made it in Word. Very smoothe. :^)
  • Try using "pdfonline". Or use something called Nuance PDF Professional.
  • I've used Nitro PDF, they have a free trial. It works really well with minimum loss of quality after the conversion and all link are still clickable. I tried it myself. Very good
  • Flame war, get a mac!
