I have slain the dragon...

but did I get anything accomplished?

It's just been one of those days. I had a long list of tasks I needed to get done today.

Bought new ink cartridges for the printer. Spent 20 minutes trying to get the new ones installed. Old one wouldn't go back in either. Used my superior technical and engineering expertise to determine that they don't fit well when installed backward.

Called the bank today about a credit card payment that a merchant double billed. Spent 25 minutes on the phone. Talked to 3 different humans and at least four 'automated' menus punching in 16 digit credit card numbers and expiration dates, etc. Fifth automated menu informs me, "This call cannot be processed at this time. Please hang up and try your call again" Click.

Went to the cell phone store re my bluetooth headset that isn't functioning correctly. It was examined by clerk like it was a highly bizarre specimen from the Smithsonian Museum. "Warranty expired last month". Sucks to be me.

Went to the dry cleaners and picked up two of my nicely starched dress shirts. Kindly helped myself to a fist full of dark chocolate Hersey kisses from a bowl on the counter. The day begins improving rapidly.

It's getting late in the afternoon here in Michigan, but, is it possible to go back to bed for 30 minutes and completely reboot?

Sigh....

Sigh. It's cyclical, TallTom. Which means that perhaps you got most of that stuff out of the way now, so no worries. I have days like that, too, and can tell you from experience that a re-boot is sometimes worse for me because my brain is beating me up over wasting the time I could be using to make it all better. So just get through it the best you can.

I've had days like this too. Might be worth finding some task that's high value yet doesn't take long and just do it quick. Pop off a _______ whatever it is, it can sometimes help the doldrums of futility seem a little more distant...

Yes, even if it's something relatively minor, accomplishing a positive can change the whole day.
Or, at least, keep the "negative" from spilling over into tomorrow.

Is this a bad time to tell Tom about the dark brown fingerprints on his freshly cleaned shirts?

Seems like you got off easy - you want to see my problems over the last four weeks - then perhaps not !

Life's a bitch ... and then you die ... or so the saying goes.

I need a stress free life so ...

I definately need to relocate to Michigan

    That was funny.

First I read about the one positive can change your day - and I'm thinking 'dark chocolate'. Yes - somebody truly understands!!!!

Then I read the part about the brown fingerprints. And I'm thinking uh-oh, better go check...

    What a roller coaster ride....

Just a personal observation here, but there's no sense slaying dragons if there aren't any GIRLS present to appreciate your efforts... :p
