I Finally Gave In To FaceBook

Yesterday I started a FaceBook account for the first time. Even though I had an advertising account I never started my own personal account. I never really fell into the the Myspace phase when it first came out so I really ignored Facebook and never really thought about it until I start Internet Marketing.

Now I am working on building my friends and family base not just as a marketer but as a person that is trying to get back in touch of the reality of what the web really has to offer. FaceBook like twitter is real time and I hope to learn to make this work to my advantage as a marketer.

I want to know from you guys that have personal Facebook accounts, not accounts set up for IM. What type of offers do you drop from time to time.I have some ideas but just want to see what others are doing. I feel that anything that I do put out will be from a hey check this out or sharing a link stand point.

    Never started one......after seeing friends on it I deemed it too much of a time suck for me !

    From my personal experience I found that it's a big waste of time to have a personal account on facebook.

    Added some 75 friends whom I don't know thinking that I will make relations with them to sell my service but none of them even talk to me
    May be this strategy is total false but still I gave it a try.

      The People that I am adding are friends and family that I have known for a long time. I am not building a friend base on people I don't know. When you do that you have to build trust before you can offer a service or product. Most important of all the product or service must be something that is targeted. Remember there or many different niches and affiliate programs not just IM think outside the box.

    As long as you dont try and sell stuff to your friends a personal account will change your life, I have never been more connected to people I know and people I sort of know!

    I have a personal account. My children share photos with me and I keep up with their news on Facebook. I would never use Facebook personal account for offers. That's not really a personal use, is it?

      Myspace ? wow that was like the worst social site ever. As to facebook well i think it will stick around for some time, the reason being is that everybody heard about it or are actually on it. When other social sites had there 15min of fame in one country, non of them were really huge international success like facebook is

    Honestly don't over think it, if someone is not happy with what you are posting they will just change a setting so every time you do update they don't know, so in the end no harm done. But if you do want to give something give them free advice, most of my unspun original articles(which are of value and a good read) are posted once a week just to remind people that your alive, you would be surprised how many of your friends and family actually don't know what you do, facebook is a nice way of saying hi I do xyz for a living.

    I just started a personal account a couple of weeks ago. Nothing is a time vamp unless you let it be a time vamp.

    I found it funny last night my daughter and myself were having a conversation via Face Book and I could hear her typing behind me lol.

    When I first started in IM, Facebook was my break-through. Up until last month I was making like $3000 monthly with it. Not anymore not becuse the method doesn't work anymore - it defiantly still does - but because my focus is elsewhere.

    Yeah, I have a personal Facegook account, don't use it much though.
