A TRUE online business success story!

My story gets more exciting every day! I own a couple online companies that do a number of things for car dealerships around the US...

I have made a complete living (and starting to make a lifestyle) by simply sending emails, mailers and talking on the phone! (A bit more complex, but not much)...

I pull data directly from the credit bureaus, which lets me know who is in the market to buy a new car.... I then send out mailers, emails and make telephone calls to the names that i pull from the credit bureaus (all legal and legit)... Once i filter this data to find out which customers want to buy a car, I sell this data to dealerships for a huge profit!

The beauty to my business is that there is NO upfront cost to me at all... Once a dealer buys 100 leads (at lets say 15 to 20 bucks a piece)... I take a portion of that money, and use the rest to do the telemarketing and mailers....

THIS IS NOT A WSO, AND I DO NOT WANT YOUR EMAIL!

Once you understand my business model, you will understand why I am willing to give my secrets away...

I am not sure that i am allowed to post my entire business model in a thread here on the warrior forum so i will simply stop here for now.... However, if anyone wants to know EXACTLY what I am doing... (and the admins don't mind)... I will post every trick that i know, in this very thread, without asking for a cent or asking for your email address....

If this thread is ok... i will continue soon!

I'm not a mod but I can tell you it's absolutely okay. That's what this forum is for and it would actually be a refreshing change from much of the discussion of late which has little or nothing to do with making money or marketing.

Ok.... i will tell my secrets... but first lets say this..... I really enjoy learning about all the different "systems" that are found here and i buy them occasionally because i love reading about ideas, however, i have not seen many true "businesses".... and if you are truly making money from these business systems.... why sell the system...why not just do it daily and make money from it?

I'm sure lots of people make money from these systems, but i am also pretty sure that the bulk of the money comes from selling the "system" itself.... Also, watch... i will get "yelled at" by lots of members here for saying this... when we all know it is at least partially true....

Having said all that.... Here is the exact business i have built and the way that you can do it as well...

This is certainly an interesting business.

I'd be interested in how you are able to pull data from the Credit Bureaus.

Do you own a credit bureau?

How do you get the names and phone numbers of people who want to buy cars?

Is this really "legal and legit"?

    thanks.

Car dealerships are very competitive and need to spend lots of money to get people in the door to buy cars... Most, large, dealerships pay for leads every month from hundreds of different lead companies

A lead can be anything that the dealership can use to sell a car. Usually, however, a dealership would like a potential car buyer to fill out a credit application online (then this info is used to tell whether or not the dealership can sell that customer a car).... But if you simply can get a name and number of someone that wants a car, then this data can be given as a lead as well....

So, how can you produce these leads for car dealerships?.... A few ways....

    1. Build a website and do your best internet marketing, pay per click, etc. to get traffic on it. (Everyone on this forum knows how hard this is to do successfully)... If you are going this route, then you need to have a dealership signup up to legally ask for your traffic to fill out a credit application! Or you can sign up as an affiliate to large lead distribution companies, which will give you a credit form that you can post on your site, eliminating the need for you to be compliant....

On a personal note... the website method is extremely difficult...

    2. Telemarketing... Get a list of people that you believe may be in the market to buy a car and call them and talk to them (on behalf of the dealership that you are producing leads for)... Getting a list is very easy (I can get them for pennies per person....wink, wink). Lets say you find a dealership that wants 100 leads... You can charge them 10-20 dollars per lead... so lets say you choose $12 (which is pretty competitive).... The dealership pays $1200... and you buy a list of 500 "potential leads" (which includes name address and phone) for around $250 bucks. You call all 500 (which come every day to your email, so about 25 calls per day, spread out over the month)... by calling all 500, you should be able to find around 100 that are in the market to buy a car and are willing to give you their info, or fill out a credit application on your site or your car dealers site... If you make the calls, then you have profited $950! If you outsource the calls... then you make less obviously...

    3. Mailers: You can also take these lists and this data and send out a post card to every potential buyer in your dealerships area, which costs around $1 per mailer... So you can tell a dealership that if they pay $2.99 per mailer, you will send out a post card to the potential customers in their area (which can be done by outsourcing to literally hundreds of companies... OR ME....wink, wink). Lets say they buy 1000 mailers from you at 2.99 per mailer... They will pay you $2990 (seems like a lot but most large dealerships have at least 3-5 grand in their advertising budget for leads!)... For this, you will send out the 1000 mailers which will cost you around 1000 bucks... leaving $1990 profit! The mailers will have the dealerships phone number or website or your website on it to produce the "lead"....

If you send out 1000 mailers... you should get around 4% that will respond (more if you offer free gifts and incentives, etc)... so... 1000 mailers equals around 40 leads for your dealership... if they sell 10% of those leads that you got them (if they sell only 4 cars)... they will average around $8000 profit... so they paid you $2990 and made $8000 (these are very conservative numbers)

    4. Do what i do....ALL OF THE ABOVE: I will call dealerships in my area, and ask them what their budget is for the month... Lets say its $3000... I will talk them into giving me $2000 of that and i will get a list of about 500 to 1000 potential customers... I will send some mailers and call the customers (that are not on the "do not call list") and produce as many leads as i can, while still making a profit... If the dealership sells at leas 1 car, they have pretty much made their money back... If they sell three of four... then they are very happy!

I also do about a hundred, more creative things, but it would take a day and a half to explain it all..... Just user your imagination and try to help dealerships find customers...

You still haven't addressed how you get data "directly from the credit bureaus" and at "NO upfront cost." In order to pull "directly" from the credit bureaus, you likely need to be a legitimate business (like a car dealership or mortgage lender), and I find it hard to believe that it would be free. I doubt that anyone off the street can just sign up at Experian and start pulling credit reports. (Can you say identity theft?)

Even if you get the data "indirectly" through an API, you're looking at going through a vetting process:

According to creditapi.com, the API "is designed for companies that have permissible purpose to access consumer credit reports from the 3 credit bureaus: Experian, Equifax, or TransUnion. End-users of CreditAPI will need to be existing subscriber of or vetted by the three bureaus or a credit reseller to retrieve credit reports."

Again, I don't see how there's no upfront cost to you. Please explain how you're able to 1) obtain the data directly from the credit bureaus; and 2) how you're doing it for free.

I will give advice to anyone interested in repeating my success, but please do not flood my inbox with a thousand questions unless you are a true entrepreneur and business person.... and you know you can pull these methods off!

Must be good on the phone and must be able to sell this service to dealerships...

You probably COULD make a wso out of this if you wanted.

Although, you're right. Why sell it if it works?

Then again, why share it for FREE if it works?

Might as well make a few bucks for your ideas.

I thought about it, but it took me a long time to figure out a way to make a serious income and i don't mind sharing... If this helps one person to build a successful company... then so be it..... I wish that someone would have done this for me about 5 years ago... I WOULD BE RETIRED BY NOW!... and i would not be selling things on this site... i would be enjoying my money from the beach!...lol

Yes, you are correct, in order to pull the data, there is a bit of paperwork that must be done through the credit bureaus... You can buy this data off literally hundreds of companies that are legally able to pull the data and your are pulling it on behalf of a licensed dealership...(AND YOU CANNOT GET ACCESS TO THE DATA WITHOUT HAVING THE DEALERSHIPS SIGN UP AND FILL OUT SOME PAPERWORK FIRST.... well you can, but i don't)... You sign up your dealership in order to pull information (on behalf of them...) and you also register your dealers with the "do not call" registry... (all very minor paper work)... I am not pulling anyone's credit information... just name address and phone... (Do a bit of research on "Trigger Leads"... it is certainly legal and done every single day)

And there is NO upfront cost..... You simply ask how many leads the dealership wants... If they buy 100 leads at 15 bucks per lead, then THEY GIVE YOU 1500 BUCKS!.. You then take that 1500 bucks and use around 300 of it on trigger leads... you call the triggers and convince them to buy from your dealer that bought the leads... or spend more and do mailers....

The dealership pays you for the leads first.... then you take some of the money for yourself and you use the rest for the trigger data...

    No upfront cost to you

If you don't feel comfortable with the credit data... you can always buy lists from a variety of companies... just get creative.... you can buy a list of people in your area that have a lease that is going to expire in the next month..... this is a good list to market to (mail or phone) because they are most likely going to be in the market for a new car this or next month.....

Get a bit creative and you can come up with lots of ways to produce viable leads...
