Wait until new content is indexed before adding more?

Hey guys.

My question is this...

I've recently outsourced a bunch of new articles for my site. I'm looking to deliver quality, unique content every 1-3 days.
Should I be waiting until the new content gets indexed before adding more new content?
If I posted something yesterday, and Google is not yet showing it with a 'site:" command, if I post more new content today will it appear to Google as 1 new block of content instead of two? Or will they see and recognize it by its post date?
Any thoughts?

    You could wait... or not. Kind of your call. I'd say for the first month or so try to get a new post up every 3 days, then from thereon out every 7 days. Just a thought!

      Yeah, that's pretty much my plan.
      I'm just curious how it looks in the eyes of Google.
      If I post 2 articles 1 day apart and they end up getting indexed the same day, does it look like I'm updating less frequently?

    It doesn't really matter. Google doesn't determine authority by what content you upload or how quickly you upload it.

    I mean, unless you're uploading 1000 duplicate posts per day.

    You're not, right?

    If you are approaching your niche from 5 - 10 different keywords (like I would recommend) and you have articles with each slightly different keyword in the title and the body of the article for good SEO (again, recommended) then I would go ahead and get up at least one article for each keyword immediately.

    Generally, on a new site, been adviced to put up at least 10 articles with slightly different titles and content all related to your niche.

    After that, some people add an article a day, some less often. At least weekly, I think would be best. I think the key once it is going is consistently so that your real people readers know what to expect. New article every Monday or whatever day you pick.

    Also, to speed up indexing, ping each post once it is up and post it on social sites like facebook and twitter. Also, if you belong to a very high volume forum that allows signature posts or a blog, post a link to the article in the sig or blog.

    Google bots basically live at high volume sites like facebook, twitter and high volume forums so you will be found fast.

      If you are SELLING something from this site, DON'T overwhelm google with content. Post couple of article > point them to your products. Optimize and promote them. (I had very bad experience on one of my site where google ignored my product pages. )

      On the otherhand, if you just adding articles for adsense purpose, it doesn't matter. your call.

    Not sure this is something you should be worrying about, many people use the WP autopost feature and post articles everyday.

    You might also find (like I have) that content is not necessarily indexed by G in the order in which it is published, no idea why that it though.

    If you have a stack of articles then regular posting is good at any time.
    To get them indexed quickly try bookmarking a post on Digg or SU

    No don't wait and worry about checking if they are indexed. Just publish as you see fit. You're over-thinking it

      Thanks for the advice everyone.

      Up until now I have always focused on affiliate sales and have been taking the route that radhika mentioned. But now the focus will be on unique, relevant content to try and keep a steady reader base.
      I'm thinking every 2-5 days should be apt for my purpose.

        Not only is it a great way to market to them, but people get so busy, they may love your content and then forget to check it out.

        I've helped several friends send out emails to their lists whenever they have an updated posted.

        With large "share" buttons on the email in the upper right hand corner for facebook, twitter and email to a friend it also helped build the list AND get more social network exposure.

        And as for too much content affecting sales, not if each article is on a different page with a different but related promotion on them.

        It just multiplies your chance for a sale and it give Google a lot of different angles into your site. It is like having multiple sites.

          I do plan on building a list once the site gets some traffic. It's literally 1 day old and I am just starting with unique content. Some link building will begin in the weeks to come. I just need to have a solid foundation.
          I have installed a WP plugin that shows Facebook, twitter, +1 and SU on each post. I will soon be creating a Facebook page and implementing a better facebook plugin.

    Since you're trying to expand your readership, make it easy for your current visitors to promote your site. One way to do that is to place social bookmarking icons at the beginning and end of articles. That should also help in getting any deeper pages indexed.

      Yes, social buttons are located at the top and bottom of each post.
      The site in question is the one in my sig.
      Nothing much at the moment, but once a get the basic foundation laid out, I'll be prettying it up a bit.

    You should strive to deliver that excellent content everyday. Same with blog posts, same with email autoresponder messages, same with press releases, same with video marketing, same with forum marketing, same with social marketing, and etc. Just get the ball rollin, keep an eye on your stats, and don't procrastinate. You can do it my friend!

      I think some high quality press release and submissions as well as video marketing is my next step.
      All of this coupled with high quality content every day or two and some natural link building should get the results I want. It'll take some time, I know, but anything good takes time!
