The Traffic Challenge

Welcome to the traffic challenge! The challenge is simple. For an entire month, you will do 5 things to drive traffic to your site every day. If you don't have time, then do 1 thing a day.

The important thing is to be CONSISTENT. If you just try 5 things a day, by the end of the month, you will have 150 different channels of traffic flowing to your website!

Here's some ideas to start you off:

• Sign-up to a forum in your niche. Then start writing really good content and posting it into the forums. Have in your signature file a link back to your website for people to find out more. This I found gives you the quickest free traffic you can ask for. I have got visitors coming to my site within 10 minutes of putting up a forum post. This wont give you a huge flood of traffic, but each forum post will give you a trickle that will add up to become a stream of visitors.

• Create a PDF and share it on Scribd and DocStoc. Another good way to get free traffic. This one hasn't been over-used yet like article marketing. Write some good content (at least a page) in a text file or Word document, and use free online tools to convert it into PDF (e.g. Online*PDF*Converter or PDF Converter - Convert to PDF Online Free. Then upload to document sharing sites like Scribd and DocStoc (which are like youTube but for documents).

• Upload a video to YouTube. You could shoot a video using a camera or even your webcam of you talking and giving some great content. Or you could use something like Jingproject.com to record your screen. Use that with Powerpoint and talk while going through the slides. Extra tip!! After you have uploaded the youTube video, go to socialmarker.com and bookmark the URL of your video on YouTube. This will help your video rank in the search engines.

• Do stuff for other people! But wait a minute... How's that going to get me traffic?? Ok so what you got to do is find people in the same niche as yourself who has a list. Ask them what they need help with, and actually help them out! It could be writing post for their blog, or writing some articles, doing graphic design, setting up websites, doing some backlinking for them.... there's tons of ways you can help out!

Once you've done that, just ask them nicely if they could send out an email or two to their list with your website on it. Now you've got a flood of targeted traffic coming straight to you! This is essentially the same as using solo ads without having to pay for them. If you're short on cash, this is a good strategy to use. PLUS you'll make a friend and potential JV partner in the future too!

These techniques work, but you have to DO THEM! So I challenge you, do 1-5 things everyday for the rest of this month to drive traffic to your website, and you'll be surprised at what you can achieve in just one month.
