I am shocked by my first sale on Flippa!

A few hours ago I just re-list one of my website on Flippa. In the first auction, It was unsold. Then I back to my computer and I add some value and rewrite the description, then I re-list it.

And only in 20 minutes, it was sold! The first buyer, click the BIN button.

Oh.. I was shocked and smile

Now I want to create more listing on Flippa!

Thank you.

Congratulations. Just like any other sale, websites don't market themselves. The description is key to generating interest in the site.

I've also had great success with flippa. My first site sold for over $1,000 but it came with a list of about 1,100 subscribers. The listing is critical to get a great price... especially the proof.

      Hi Ian McConnell

Can you please tell me how to transfer a list on a flipp sell?
Your list was on Aweber? Can you tell how to transfer the list to the buyer once its sold

      Kind Regards

Most autoresponders allow you to export and import lists of subscribers.

One way that Flippa sellers make more money is that they assist the buyers by setting up the autoresponder for them, and of course they make sure that they use their affiliate account in the link that they send to the buyer to signup for the autoresponder. This commission can soon exceed the sale price of the site.

watsonovedades, it is super simple as long as the buyer has an Aweber account. Just contact Aweber with your list name and the buyers account details and they do everything (no charge).

It's great that you sold your site but the buyer also got 10 more Amazon sites that you must build; 4000 backlinks; 1 month of free customization; free transfer etc.

You know what your time is worth but it sounds like the buyer got an amazing deal with a VA for a month.

I'm not trying to have a go at you but maybe you should take your value-add into account when setting the BIN price.

I agree with Fraggler. Irvan, you gave that buyer over $1000 or more worth of bonuses for $150

you are totally selling yourself short. And what's going to happen is that you will soon realize that you aren't really making great money flipping sites because you are promising the moon and getting paid peanuts for it.

Your time is money. Value your time. Factor in what you think your hourly wage should be, how long it takes you to provide the service, add 1-2 hours to that time, and price accordingly.

I wish you every success with your blog flipping business!

I do realiaze it now. But I believe in what Zig Ziglar said: "You can have everything you want, if you will just help enough other people get what they want!"

It's the law of giving and receiving..Money must flow..Money must be circulated..You must give money in order to get some money back..It is just a giant circle..

believe me I totally can relate, Irvan. I gave away a ton of free templates when I first started out (and I still do) and the generosity has come back to me and rewarded me big time.

so yes, Zig Ziglar's quote is spot on.

I'm not saying don't give away anything free, I'm saying don't give away too much, or it might hurt you in the future, because they may expect you to give way more than you might be prepared to give, and that won't be profitable for you in the long run.

At the end of the day, we all need to make a living, right?

          take care, Irvan!

Thank you Fraggler, you're right. But I believe that I can do it. I have count how many time I need to build 1 site like the site. I just need to repeat the steps. But I agree with you and I will not repeat it again to add HUGE VA with low BIN. This is my first time getting result from Flippa.

And in other side, I need new-fresh motivation to grow my online business. And from this result of an auction I got new motivation.

      Thanks again.

No worries Irvan. If you can still flip your sites fast without this huge bonus then that time spent on building other people's sites can be used to build (and flip) even more for yourself. Find that price point and you'll be laughin'!

You know you can sell now so just tone it down a bit and find a sustainable model where both you and the customer wins.

    Hey Irvan,

Great news about your first sale on Flippa

I was thinking about getting into flipping sites a few weeks ago, but still tied up with other areas on here. I read an interesting thread about flipping and flopping sites, so for anyone who doesn't know what that means, basically you sell sites that are flops which are sites that don't make money or enough money to shout about.

What sort of sites are you looking to sell on Flippa, adsense? Affiliate?

    Jack.

Great. You just become $150 richer (Smiling). It's a great fit. If you can build
20 of such sites in a month and get them sold @ that rate, you could easily
    cruise to $3,000/month.

And if you are fortunate enought that each doesn't cost you above $50 to
create, that's $2,000 profit in 30 days flipping websites. Scale this up brother
since you now know how to do this successfully.

    Wishing you all the best.

Gratz on the sale, but I agree with some of the others that you are offering way too much for the $150 that you made. Man, I make at least 4 times as much just designing a site... but sometimes your first online sale is justified at this price, so that you can print it out frame it and hang it up in front of you to motivate you. Just make sure to use photoshop to make a second poster with an extra 0 at the end of the amount you sold it for, ie your next goal

Just go on.. and if you use wordpress there are some techniques how to run your blog faster. You can use plugins, and resizing the images, etc.

A friend of mine tried to sell a site with 5-10k visitors a day on Flippa and had no luck. Ended up selling it to a private offer instead.

So, moral of the story is, keep banging out sites.

I am sorry to say this but , I have no other words seeing this post.

Actually the buyer who bought the website has benefited more than the OP. And $150 sell at Flippa is very low. Even some newbie could sell their website not less than in $1000.

But it should be a good learning experience for you in many cases.

      Hi,

FYI, $150 is quiet big money for Indonesian. In Indonesia, 9 to 5 workers only get about $100 - $500 salary per month and Irvan got $150 in just 20 minutes. Yeah! This money is quite big for Indonesian.

Anyway, congrats Irvan! Hope you have another great success in the future.

Take care and have a nice day.

Yes, you're right, Rif. $150 is more than the average of UMR or UMK in our country for a month.

When I sell sites on Flippa I never use a BIN price as I feel you can easily undervalue yourself the fact this site went so fast tells me that you could have sold it for more

I really feel the key is the extra bonus's you offered, they always help sweeten the deal for buyers.

Hi Irvan, i watched Gbarrows video and i really like the quality of the video, it's not pausing like some of the WSO sellers that use Youtube to host their webinar or tutorial. Really annoying! From what i understand from the video, Gbarrows trying to tell you that you should sell your own WSO or blueprint once you have sell more websites as you can provide people of your revenue proof from Flippa and we have been responding to you on this thread many times even though you have just sell a website but that really have inspired a lot of people here including me. Gbarrows suggested that you can make money not just from selling on Flippa as you are now authorities (Berwenang/orang yang berkuasa) and if you can inspired a lot of people here with just a sell on Flippa, you can get more by selling a few more websites. I believe what he is saying is true. You should try it, there's no problem with you because you are War Room Members. You just need to write an ebook if you can't produce videos.

I've been selling a few unused domain names on Flippa. I sold a set of five related niche domain names for $101 and a couple of others for $60 and $20.

I learned the hard way to not accept auto-bids. I had two auctions "won" by someone who never paid. When I tried to contact them, the email was returned because the account was not valid, and then I discovered they had been banned by Flippa. I did get to relist for no charge and Flippa waived the success fee. Now I check the buyer's stats before I accept bids.

Oh, I am sorry to hear that. But I believe maybe your luck was not that time, but in this time.

You're doing what I was doing to not accept auto-bids and I double check the buyer stats because I have read some reference of People that being scammed on Flippa.

Although I'm new on Flippa, but I'm still carefully with another new guy on flippa who place his/her bid on my auction.

      Good luck.

Unfortunately the problem is that competition keeps increasing on Flippa for sites like this. I used to sell these sites that I was able to make in 2 hours for nearly $400, but now it's decreased to about $125 per sale and quit because of all the work I had to go through.

I still use Flippa for selling developed and well monetized sites, but I use it rarer now due to all the competition arising now.

Oh yes, you're right Ben, I have done a research to know about the competition before I listed my site. But not all of the seller who sells site like this has added the same value.

Than, I believe that there are many new-comers on Flippa (buyer and seller) that means we still have the chances to sell site like this with some different value-added of course.

And If I'm not wrong, any kind of niche sites that listed on Flippa should have some competitors.

It's been said many times that the description can make or break your success on Flippa. There are just way too many similar sites being sold and finding a buyer may not be the easiest thing to do, unless you have something really special to offer. Congratulations of your quick win!

How are some sellers on flippa able to get like $2400- repeatedly for their auctions when there looks like there little traffic and the design is anything but amazing?

Check out one in particular called Autoblogsmaker.com - This seller sold quite a few of these for big money and they all look alike!! I'd like to know the secret. I'm guessing somehow it may be a scam where they have a network of bidders driving the price up......which is risky but I'm sure it's happening.

    Thoughts?
