Noob asking for opinions please

Hey guys, I've been pecking away for several weeks now, both solo and with the help of 'friends' in other places (elance). Have 5 keywords in the top 10 and am generally pleased with progress thus far. Reading here, though, it seems the general consensus (and this makes sense) is that quality over quantity is the correct formula. My friends in India have just completed a month long project where they've manually(?) completed these tasks:

Press Release Submissions 38
Blog Posting 31
RSS Feed 10
Video/Photo Submission 12
Clssified Submission 20
Social Bookmarking 30
High PR Links 106

My question is this - Is there any ongoing value to continuing on this path? Should I be transitioning to all high quality, relevant article writing/submitting, forum posting, video posting, etc. that I do alone or is there merit to continuing with both? Is there a possibility I could damage my page ranks by using 'bulk' resources or is this at a pretty safe level (quantities listed above)?

As I said in my title, I'm a noob but a pretty quick study. I'm just hoping to refine the 'formula' so I can have the best chance to succeed. I really appreciate anyone's advise and/or suggestions. Thanks a lot!

The Internet is an ever evolving beast. Todays DO-follow backlinks can easily become tomorrows NO-follow backlinks simply with the wave of a wand.

My point is... its always a great idea to develope and implement a diversified linking strategy, which it seems you have.

As long as you're building links in a organic (natural) fashion and pushing relevant backlinks to your content pages, you'll be fine.

In fact, you mentioned article writing/submission....yes, you should add this to your link building mix as well as forum posting, directories, social bookmarking etc.......you'll hear so called gurus say that submitting to directories and social bookmarking are useless...BUT until Google, Yahoo/Bing come flat out and say that linking using those methods is "bad"...you shouldn't discount them.

Also, work on developing more of a Content Marketing strategy than a SEO strategy. What I mean is...you should constantly be writing or outsourcing new quality Content and driving RELEVANT backlinks to that content. I'm speaking primarily of your blog/website content.

Its a mind thing... When people think SEO, typically their mind focuses solely on backlinks rather than content.

Good content gets picked up, gets published, gets emailed & ultimately gets wider distribution across the web.

Other than this...its awesome that you're seeing positive results.

More quality Content + More RELEVANT backlinks to that content = More Rankings.

    Wishing You Awesome Success!

Yes Chris is right. Quality information & Link diversity is important and from the information you have specified in your thread everything seems to be working for you so I would continue with whats working. Outsourcing is definately the way to go as you need to ask yourself if you have the time to do all of that on your own. Focus your efforts on the marketing and coming up with other ways to drive traffic.

      All the best
