Storing downloading files for purchase?

Anyone recommend an online service that allows you to upload files and restrict who can download them? Basically I want to unlock access if someone purchases the files.

Amazon S3 for storage, and DLGuard for security are two common and very good solutions for what you're describing. Both are proven winners. There are others, but also keep in mind once a digital product is in the hands of others they can take on a life all their own.

I'm with Bill... Amazon S3 is great.

Really, many shopping carts will allow you to control access to digital downloads and only authorize them after a purchase. I know 1shoppingcart does.

Do they offer for someone to come back and download it? I was thinking of building a custom solution, but wanted to see if an online service already does this. Where after you pay it gives you a link that is unique and allows you to download so many times and keeps track etc. I couldnt find anything, so again was going to build one out but I dont believe in re-inventing the wheel, unless I can make a better wheel.

That's exactly what DLGuard allows you to do. I've been using it for several years, and Sam Stephens, the guy who owns it, is the poster child for excellent service. It's not free, but's it's a trustworthy solution.
