Signature Traffic here in WF?

I was wondering if someone could talk about some numbers on clicks from your forum sig here on WF... Just to get an idea of the possibilities.

Second thing is, if there any a good number of clicks would it be worth it to have a link to a simple site that sells let's say a video IM course for newbies or something like that?

Would this b a waste of time

Love to hear some opinions from you all

Only one way to know. Be an active member and contribute some amount of value to the forum while having a link in your sig.

Everyone has different sigs and will get different amount of clicks. Too many factors to take into account.

And don't be tempted to use an affiliate link in your signature Ben or you'll rapidly find the privilege will disappear.

Likewise... the link in your signature should be to a website you personally own, not somebody elses. Same applies. If it does link to somebody elses website and not your own, your signature link will disappear.

As the above gentleman (Simon) stated, think about providing many posts of great value here first before working out ways to milk the system in place for traffic generation purposes.

      Best,

Yep... 6 posts on the forum and you're already thinking about how much you can make with a sig.

Hows about contributing to the forum...

Then later on (I think 50 posts) if you want to show something you can place a link in your sig.

I'm pretty sure (although I have no proof) the people who contribute the most value get the most miles out of their sig.

    Good luck

Absolutely right, the more you focus on helping others and giving value the better your response will be especially if you can provide something that over delivers and is in demand.

I agree that there are too many variables not just in sig clicks but in everything to do with IM.

Forum sigs can be just one part of an overall marketing plan for some. Others, it is just something fun to do and they have a sig but that isn't where they make their money.

As for the 2nd question. I don't really understand what you are asking.

The people that give the best responses to questions or offer the best informational posts will get the best click through on their sig links, depending on what they are.

Mostly sig links are for SEO I believe. But I do click on some of them if they interest me. And I notice I get a few, very few, clicks to my sig link. Obviously it does not havce wide appeal.

yes, signature traffic works, but only when you prove that you are here to be a part of the community and contribute and not just to self-promote.

Not really. I was trying to make the4 point that if you have something people want, you can do well with them. That is if you are known to be someone that knows what they are talking about and have shown that with your posts.

I have helped a lot of people over my tenure, but there isn't a whole lot of demand for the item in my sig, therefore just a trickle of traffic.

I agree, again it depends on how much genuine value you provide with your insightful answers. It should only represent one small part of your overall strategy if you do pursue it!

I get TONS of clicks every day I post... but as you can see, I have made a lot of posts, and I work hard to HELP people when I post.

The people who get the best results:

    1. Are active on the forum.
    2. Are helpful and provide good information to forum members.
    3. Have something in their signature that people want to read or see.

I hear paying so you can put images in your sig helps too.

It depends completely on what your signature says and if it's eye catching.
I get some good traffic through the forum though.

I can't give specific numbers at this moment in time but I have had a lot of traffic from my sig, and also sales over the years.

Best thing to do is forget about your sig after putting it in place. Add value to the forum naturally. Don't inflate your post count with small, irrelevant comments. Join in, have fun and if you truly have something of interest in your sig, the rest will follow.

    Try and test it.

We can't give you a definite answer. To many variables. It gets annoying day after day people coming on the WF and trying to milk it of every penny it will give.

This isn't directed at you OP, but it annoys the hell outta' me how people can't do anything for themselves nowadays. Since the age of 14 I've been in the IM game doing things for myself, not coming on the forum every minutes asking if people can predict my results. They were my results, they could be totally different from someone elses.

We are a helpful community, help people before you even think about trying to take money off of warriors.

The effectiveness of Signature links depends on various factors. Here are few factors which really matters -

Relevancy of forum and link in your signature (if it is relevant there is more chance)
Appealing factor of the Text you use in Signature.
    Use of Image if any.
And most importantly your contribution towards the forum where you are posting.

It could work if you have thousands of posts and active. You can expect to get 100 visitors from 10 posts you made.. but vice-versa could work. You need to leave intelligent comments on any forum (not necessarily here) and have good reputation (most people relate it to post count) to get more clicks.. keep a image and make interesting.

Having a signature in a forum can also generate traffic to your site.
But the effectiveness depends on how you attract people to see and click your signature. One of the effective way for the people to click your signature is to develop a great reputation on the forum and make your posts stands out.

    Hope it make sense.

All these other people are lying to you. They're (not there) hiding the truth. Put a signature link in your profile and you'll get 37 clicks per day at a 10% conversion rate. So if you sell private jet charters at $1,000 commission per sale, you'll make $3,000-$4,000 per day virtually on auto-pilot. All you have to do to keep the traffic flowing is 1 post/day. That's how we all can afford to post on the forum all day instead of having real jobs. Thanks and good luck.

It isn't just down to one single thing!

There are many ways to attract people with what it is you have to offer.

Yes I do strongly recommend you get involved, ask questions and use your experiences to then help out others.

I see it as a pass it on kind of process.

No 1 person can spread the message on their own so it is up to us all as fellow warriors to get that message out there and help people out as much as possible.

Once you get accustomed with this great forum you will begin to see how big an opportunity it can be to learn, share and grow from it.

Hope this helps and happy learning my friend!!!

The quality and quantity of clicks you get form your signature depends on how relevant your thread is. You still get clicks by leaving comments on threads that are not necessarily relevant to your signature link.

It all comes down too how much value you provide and how massive your brand is.

People only click on your signature link if they are interested in you or your product.

But yeah, most people who click on your signature link will never buy your product. The true economic buyers are active at the WSO forum. Most people in the internet marketing forum are just not likely to ever buy your product, so each lead that you generate is worth significantly less than a buying lead.

Your question is impossible to answer because it depends on a whole range of things.

    1. The number of posts you have. Obviously a signature of a member with thousands of posts will get way more exposure than the signature of a member with only a few posts.

    2. The relevance of your signature to the content of your posts.

    3. The value you add in your posts.

    4. The content of your signature.

It's been more than 6 months that you wrote that thread. Did you get any traffic at all? I guess not, since you only have 34 posts since February.

So, i guess you have your answer. And i am not saying this in an ironic way.

You have to build trust and give value to the forum. If you had consistently posting 5 posts a day since February, you 'd now have almost 1000 posts.See the difference?
