New Guy Here
I just turned 24 years old and work at two jobs. I work 5 days at one company, the weekend at another. I have college degrees and am a decent writer and have taken many a writing class in my day. Anyway. The weekend business that I work at is pretty much a joint business with my friend. It is a niche sporting goods store, and due to our location, it is very specific, and also profitable. I have a wholesale account with distributors that we get our goods from. We, however, do not sell anything on the internet--- yet!
My idea is as follows: Build a website which includes a blog as well as ton of other useful information pertaining to our niche market. I know hundreds of people who I can refer to this blog/site in person considering I see them on a weekend-ly basis. I know a number of people in the industry, and can quickly build support and probably acquire sponsors. So within my site and blog I would like to have an online store where I can peddle some of my goods to my followers, which would be sure to follow if my blog is in fact instructive. My questions are as follows:
What is the best way to attain a domain and build and efficient web site?
Is my plan feasible?
Can I get paid "per click"?
Are there any tutorials for this in which I can research and utilize?
Is this a common method that people use to make money?
I have just skimmed this forum. I have not done the deep researching yet, obviously. I am willing to put in the work, but would like to be points in the right direction, if someone is willing to help me. I believe that the ideas that I have would be very popular for our area and are, up to this point, non existent. I think there is a need for my information. When I talk to these people in person I see how interested they are, and they actually look up to me. I also am in touch with local news reporters whom I can use to promote my site for free.
What do you guys think ? Sorry for my "newbie"ness, and please excuse me. I promise I will be doing more research daily.
