How to become an Amazon Associate?

I'm planning to apply for Amazon Associate..

I already have a personal blog: mhaddyness.blogspot.com..

Since, it's a personal blog, the topics vary from personal thoughts to just about anything that I can think of.

But I don't think it's a good platform to use..

Now, should I set up a site dedicated to Amazon Associate? I want to become an affiliate of amazon books. Should I create a site for books then?

I really don't know where to start so I appreciate all the help that I can get.

    Like you, I too had a personal blog but I chose to register a new domain, installed wordpress, added content for 7 days in a row on a given topic then made application to join Amazon affiliate program.

    It was approved within 24 hours.

    you can either set up a new blogspot blog dedicated to your chosen books niche and then become amazon associate or you can use a new domain and build your books site on it using either wordpress or any other cms, but both of these ways are good, you just use the one which is easy for you.

    If your main source of traffic is going to be Google you're going to need to bear in mind the following:

    Little or no original content - Webmaster Tools Help

    It's about thin affiliate sites. You would be better off keeping your personal blog but promoting the books rather than having no other content.
