What Video Animation Programs Do You Use?

I need a presentation for a product launch. Do you know anyone who is good with motion graphics, animations and video presentations that you can recommend?

If I was to outsource it on odesk, should I ask for a powerpoint presentation or something done in adobe aftereffects or some other program?

Thanks

PowerPoint for PC or Keynote for Mac is all the animation you will need. Personally, I am a little tired of the over-the-top, blockbuster movie effects, that only lead into an anonymous person reading a hyped-up sales letter.

In fact for myself, when I see a video start like it's leading into the next Star Wars, it raises more doubts about the content and credibility of the source.

It's okay to have an intro and some music for a video theme, but keep it simple and keep it to 5-15 seconds - then hit your viewer with something REAL and VALUABLE right from the start - INFORMATION! And NOT some special video effect that anyone can buy off the shelf these days.

    Just my thoughts.

Just as a point of reference, and agreeing with Marty that those Star Wars introductions have more or less played themselves out in the general sense, some of the animated whiteboard RSA style videos do seem to achieve the desired result of capturing attention albeit at a relatively huge initial investment.

Point being, you need to have the budget for it. Say $1000 a minute and up.

If you find a video you like perhaps you could ask the entity who owns the video where they had it made. They're likely to tell you if you approach them correctly.

And keep in mind saving a few dollars going with the lowest bidder may not be your wisest option.

I would keep things simple as other people have said. If you want to go the the kinetic typography route you will have to pay quite a lot and trying to learn adobe is a steep curve.

Use powerpoint or open office for your slides, paint, net or gimp for your graphics and you can record using either Jing (no editing though) or Camtasia Studio (you can then record, edit and produce), you can get a free 30 day trail from techsmith

Then I use amazonS3 for hosting and wordpress with a free flowplayer plugin for showing in squeeze pages and membership pages.

You can also get a intro 3d Logo done on Fivver

I use the free Windows Live Movie Maker.

It's simple and easy to use.

I've been able to quickly whip up videos for CPA offers and Amazon products that convert well, all by using that free program.

You can also use Camstudio 7 which might be better for your product launch. I believe it still has a 30 day free trial so you can test it out for a while.

    Hope this helps.

High end motion graphics for intros can be done with Adobe After Effects. It does have a steep learning curve. However, the shortcut way of doing it is to go to videohive.net, then pick the opener video effect template you want, then hire someone cheaply on elance or maybe even fiverr or here on the warrior forum to take the template and use your logo.
