Is this a HOT niche or what?

I checked with google trends and the chart shows that it is very popular in Canada and USA. For Canada it is between 8 and 9 on the graph. For USA it is about 1.3 and it looks like they are both on the upward trend.

I then did a google search without the quotes and it produced a count of 103 million. With the quotes it is at only 12,600.

Now the search I am doing is 3 words but google displays it to the right in quotes and the middle word is black while the outer words are red. What does this mean?

Oh and by the way, the dot com for this keyword is available.

My other question is, with these numbers is it a good keyword to use to get a domain on and do you think it would be a profitable niche to explore?

Kelvin it sounds like you have a winner. I haven't run into the Google stuff you mentioned maybe someone else knows.
If you decide you don't want it PM me and I'll take a shot at it. Yeah right! is that what I heard you say?
    Good luck,

How do I find out if they are spenders?1

          * look at the adwords ads that are popping up
          * look at the sites on the first page and see if they're monetized

If there's decent competition trying to make money, odds are there's money to be made. Do keep in mind that you might be the first person to run into that particular gold mine in which case you might as well take a chance. If there's no competition SEO/Adwords is easy to dominate and you can figure out pretty fast if it's worth pursuing.

          * depending on the subject you can sometimes tell if the people are looking for something to buy (IE: people looking for television sets or computer hardware reviews are probably looking to buy one). Other niches are difficult to monetize (I don't want to say impossible because you'd be surprised at how far a good imagination might take you).

Thats the one thing that I am SCARED of. ADWORDS. I have heard horrific stories about it sneaking up on you and biting you in the a**. I have SOME money to put towards promoting the site but very very limited. So I tend to shy away from Adwords. Maybe this is where my downfall is as I have been trying to make money online for the past year and have not sold one affiliate product.

            Don't know.

Ouch. Not one sale in an entire year?

I think you're looking in the wrong places, doing the wrong things, and too focused on the "hot niche" concept.

You also don't have any money?

Here is an idea. Write down everything you are doing (that isn't working). Perhaps you have a cheap in the WSO in the making!

Casting a critical eye to what you have done, and the results - compare that to what other Warriors and Internet marketers are doing to make money.

Another idea while I'm thinking about it, what you said about Adwords.

It is five bucks to open an account.

Assuming you've done your research and have a good niche with good paying affiliate programs, buy some Adwords traffic and see what happens.

Ten cents a click is 50 clicks for five bucks. If you get one commission you're in profit.

Potentially, you could be paid that commission before you have to pay Google any more money. (Or get paid very soon after).

I just went and did the 2 searches through google again with and without the quotes, this time without that middle word.

Both searches ended up producing about 14million so I guess that niche isn't as hot as I thought. Or am I doing this right in that I am looking at longer tailed keywords?

yes, NO sales at all and only 50 dollars accumulated through adsense over that year but you know what? I KNOW there is money in this computer and I will NEVER SURRENDER!!!!!!!!

How will I know if I have a WSO in the making? You willing to look it over and give me your opinion? lol

Then do SEO instead. It doesn't cost anything if you don't mind writing articles/building links yourself. Anyway, adwords was just a suggestion (though you should still keep an eye on the ads to see if there's competition and what kind of competition there is).

thanks for the suggestion. That is something I have never done is to look at the google ads to the right of the search results. I am sure that they would give me a lot of information about what I am up against.

A black word means that it wasn't fully included in your search as it's too common. Usually stuff like 'and' or 'the'

There is no excuse to not making money on the internet. It is a number's game. Either you are just not choosing the right niches to promote, or your not finding targeted traffic. Once you make a sale, you need to expand on it.

Write some articles on a popular niche, I promise you'll make a sale.
