Here are some creative ways of making more money than just by selling them.

1. Allow other e-zine publishers or web site owners to republish small nuggets or excerpts of information from your ebook with your byline or ad included.

2. Make extra profits from selling monthly updates of your ebook. You could also back end sell the extra never released chapters of your e-book.

3. Give away a free ebook and then give people an option of buying the paid version of the ebook. Also let others give away the free version of your ebook.

4. Divide your ebook content into reports then give people the option of just purchasing the info they want.

5. Purchase reprint rights to other people's ebooks an combine them with your books in a large package deal or private ebook library web site.

6. Change the benefits on your ebook ad copy into links. When people click on it take them right to the order page. It'll give them an urge to buy your ebook.

7. Charge people a cheap price to read half of your ebook. If they like it, they can pay full price to read the other half.

Use some of these creative ways with ebooks and you will make more money. Your next step is to sell as many of these books as possible by marketing them correctly.

There are many more you can use but this is a start.

Hi Mary/All,

8. Create a few eBooks and charge them cheap/give away for free. Include in those eBooks a special discount for your main product (membership,eBook etc). It's going to work as a huge incentive.

Also consider doing "live shows" as the backend product....

My favourite one! Here we meet again Tony -- and once again you're spot on.

These days people just love videos - and it can actually be just a good slide show, as to speak, not necessarily an actual video! That's the beauty of it!

Hi Rufus,

I'm in this business myself but haven't seen any tutorials on it.

A simple plan is:

1) Have a ready text for the video eBook.
2) Order the voice over for the text. Voiceovers are cheap enough on elance.com, voice123.com.
3) Once you have to voice - use Camtasia Studio (the old 3rd version, I guess, you can download FREE from their website) and drop the voice in the project
4) Create background graphics - use PhotoShop, but if you don't have it - you can use PhotoPlus 6.0 - it's got mainly the same features. You can use the same background, just wirte different text on them. A good way is emphasising the main points. Between them use some general graphics you can buy cheap enough on Bigstockphoto.com
5) Drop them in the Camtasia and then on the time line. Slice and drag the graphics and audio so that it creates a good show with the audio accordingly to the slides.

That's it - export it as an HTML file and it's ready to put on the web, in the DVD etc!

Make it re-brandable. Allow others to give it away for free with a link to a product you're selling, and give them a cut of the commission.

(Or, 100% commissions and build a list.)

  There might be someone out there who has just written their first ebook and wants to get the most from it. So here's the rest of the ways I had:
  
  Offer freebies that are related to the ebook your selling. It could be free monthly ebook updates, free e-zine, free consulting, etc.
  
  Show your prospects a sample page out of your ebook. Just black out some of the important info. This will make your prospects curious to buy.
  
  Provide a low and high priced version of your ebook. Show benefits of each version side by side. People usually spend a little more for extra info.
  
  Offer the reprint rights to your ebook. You can sell the rights with the regular purchase price or as a separate higher price.
  
  Make your ebook available for offline people. You could turn it into a print book, report, video, audio book, print newsletter, etc.
  
  Redesign your ebook for specific niches. You can create multiple profits with very little work. For example, turn a business ebook into a craft business ebook.
  
  Give your prospects discount coupons on other products when they purchase your ebook. It could be your products or others that you made deals with.
  
  Divide your ebook into online newsletter issues. You could charge a re-occurring monthly subscription for people to view each issue.
  
  Lets hope some of these ideas help others make more money.

  I think another strategy falls into these action steps -- selling the eBook on Amazon.com!
  
  Let's not forget Amazon is a marketplace next to eBay in terms of traffic and there are DVD publishing services offering selling the stuff for you on Amazon, for instance http://kunaki.com/Amazon.htm You just upload files - and presto!

By the way - the Bigstockphoto site is a whole lot cheaper than istockphoto.

I was ready to pay 10 euro per image on istockphoto, then went to bigstockphoto and eventually payed 1$ for the exact same designer's images!!!!

After converting to a higher perceived product version such as an audio or video, you can take it one step further by burning them into CDs/DVDs and selling them at a much higher price.

  I'd think that its better to have more products that are accessible only online in a secure members area as compared to that which you buyers can download. Because ebooks are circulated around..
  
  And I'd also like to add here that packaging an ebook as a package or a toolkit by adding some other things like scripts or audios ore softwares gives it much more percieved value!

I happen to think this could be a good idea. You could even just give away the first half of the book and charge for the second half.
