Authority site question?

I am building a site that will have 130 pages of content. What is better:

1. To release it and start promoting it when it has 25 pages, or

2. To build it completely and start promoting it then, or

3. any other idea?

Also is it a good idea to focus on the main keyword of the site for each of the 130 pages? It will be an affiliate for villas. Lets say the main keyword is:
Holidayvillasintoscany.com. Should each page target both keywords for each villa and holiday villas in tuscany, or just concentrate on the individual villa and don't worry about the domain keyword?

I think that you should make it LIVE and seeing by others.

You should not wait to have all 130 pages. Start and then add new pages as you go along.

I think you should launch your site right after first post and keep adding posts every day.

You must have your site live with few posts and then keep on adding new pages.

You can promote more number of keywords. But make sure that you have a specific page for a particular keyword and that should be there in the page url too.

Yes — you'll want to grow slowly. Take the time to add backlinks to each post after you make them. Getting a simple social bookmarking service is one great way to get a natural amount of links. After say 90 days, all 130 posts are up, backlinks to each internal page —*Google lovessssssss that. Slapping it up all at once you miss the great opportunity for natural growth.

Yeah, get your site live as soon as possible man! It helps a great deal with seo if you have it live from the start, and when google see that you're pushing new content, it will rank your site higher.

Look up Dennis Gaskill here on the forum. He actually has a course on exactly how to build an authority site. He's built his own, so his content isn't based on theory, he'll be able to give you some answers.

Once you have 5+ pages, and a plan to continue to add content on a regular basis, then go ahead and make it LIVE.

Other than continuing to add content, you also want to pay as much attention to content that will attract interest, multiple visits and feedback as well as just more content in general.

Think about having a forum, a weekly Q&A, a video blog, a weekly contest - anything to help bring back repeat visitors, help you get external links and that you can post and get Retweets or linked to via Twitter/Facebook or other social bookmarking sites

    Hi petkanov,

I'd start off with 25 to 50 pages right away so you have enough content for your visitors to get a good feel for what your site will be like, and then start promoting it. Then I'd add 3 to 5 pages a day after that.

This will show steady growth, which the search engines like. It will also look very natural to them. You could probably get away with publishing all the pages at once, but I think it's better to show growth over time.

They can see see the date the files are published so it's best not to blast a ton of pages at up at once, it could cause them to be suspicious of automation, but 25 to 50 should be perfectly safe. No one really knows where the line is drawn, but I've uploaded that many before without problems.

If you're trying to build an authority site, you should consider building more pages than that...over time, of course. 130 pages really isn't a very big site in the search engines eyes.

    Hope that helps.

Oops...missed this the first time. Targeting the same keyword on all your pages would look like spam to the search engines. It will hurt more than help. You can target a different keyword/phrase for each page and still keep it focused toward your theme. Examples:

    Most Comfortable Villas in Tuscany
Most Conveniently Located Villas in Tuscany
    Best Villa Views in Tuscany

...and so on. A strategy like that will build a strong "villas in Tuscany" theme for the whole site. You need to do keyword research and find all the search terms people use that your site can help, and then build a page for each one.

Definitely stagger the release of the content, you can even start promoting the content before you've got 25 pages up.

+1 to all the people saying to target different keywords on the 130+ pages, you're better off using long tail derivatives on those pages rather than just going for the main keyword.

You should definitely put up your main pages that target your main keywords first, and they should target different keywords, but don't go crazy with link building to those main pages just yet... build out around 25-50 pages like you said on longer-tail phrases, while slowly building links to your main pages. The worst thing that can happen is getting a unnatural linking penalty from Google for your main keywords.

One page is enough to make it live. I have sites that consist of a squeeze page that rank high in search engines.

Do not delay making the site live but ensure you have on page seo.
Make sure you include meta data, h1 tag and have unique content. Also try to build an opt-in to start building your list

Also think about investing in a social bookmark service, link wheel or article submissions to improve your rankings.

Gradual growth is always the way to go, since backlinking is by nature drip-fed, don't waste a moment waiting!
