Flippa's Neutral Feedback

Just wondering if anyone finds it unfair that neutral feedbacks on Flippa have the exact same effect as a NEGATIVE feedback?

One of my buyers wanted me to create a TON of extra features outside of the auction. I helped him with some, not all, and in return he gave me a neutral feedback.

As I only have 3 feedback total, it brought my rating down to 67%

Flippa is great for selling websites, but now I feel like I need to sell on a different account because I received a "neutral" feedback.

If you ask me, neutral should mean neutral.

Plus you can't comment on feedback received, so buyers never get to hear both sides of the story.

I haven't ever heard of any complaints with Flippa's feedback system. Just wondering if I'm the only one who feels that way?

Contact Flippa and explain what is going on. That is bad to hear, and yeah a lot of buyers think that the seller can be there holding their hand throughout every little detail. I always try my hardest to keep my buyers happy but sometimes it is hard, when you are trying to build more websites in the process.

I always communicate with my buyers through Flippa, even if my buyer has sent me an email, I still reply using the Flippa's messaging system. Just in case, I have to dispute something or have to contact Flippa about a feedback score.

Also, most sellers will add "Buy It Now" features, such as 6months support, or 12months support. If the buyer doesn't use the "Buy it Now" button make sure they know that support is limited. You should always contact everyone who places a bid, and inform them about the features that you will add if they buy it now, and the features they do not receive if they are just the highest bidder when the auction ends.

Contact flippa, but I am not sure what they can or will do about it - Thats the deal with ratings, people can put what they think or frankly make stuff up.

You have the chance to reply though right? (Can't recall it's been a while since I've sold a site on there).

And obviously the more listings you have the less this will be a problem.

Make sure you specifically mention this in your next auction e.g. make a point of discussing the feedback so potential bidders can see you are not trying to hide anything.

If it's reasonable most people will see it for what it was and it won't be a problem.

Since feedback is often used to hold sellers hostage by doing exactly what your buyer did .. demand extra or free work from them, and can be faked for other reasons, it is unfair that sellers can't respond to feedback.

Elance gives sellers the right to respond to feedback so you get both sides of a story.
